THE TENDER SPOT — Restaurant in Morgan Hill

I know they are in a soft opening right now so I will do my best to give a soft review. Let’s start with the staff and atmosphere: staff is super nice and knows how to be welcoming. They have music playing and wall drawings that I really liked. I also like that their sign out front glows green. Definitely a head turner.

For the sides: sweet potatoes fries are amazing and taste better with their sauce which is also really good. The yellow Mac and cheese was not flavorful in the slightest which was disappointing.

For the chicken: I got the inferno spice level tender and sandwich. It was in fact not very inferno at all. The spicy seasoning was very lightly dusted only on top of the chicken as opposed to actually tossing it and giving it a good coat. This is odd since this is suppose to be a hot chicken place but there’s no hot? It’s just breaded chicken. Well sort of. I loved the atmosphere. The staff was extremely nice. Now I do understand that it just recently opened and that it takes time to establish themselves but I feel like it was not very tender or spicy. When you hear the word tender you think of a chicken tender. Like most Nashville styled chicken you think of hot spicy chicken tenders, this was not that. I was given a breaded chicken cutlet that was light to not seasoned at all. I got the hottest seasoning and was very disappointed when it was not seasoned at all. I compared my meal to what they advertised on the website and it simply was not that. I believe I got the combo number 5, it tasted great but it just was not what it was promoted to be. Tried The Tender Spot for the first time and I was really impressed! I got a meal that came with a chicken sandwich, tender with toast, and fries. The prices are great and they have some awesome combo deals. The portions are generous, the #1 combo and the loaded fries could easily be shared between two people. Their lemonade and agua fresca are also super refreshing and delicious.

The only thing was my fries weren’t as crispy as I like, but that’s probably because we took it to go and ate after a short ride home. Next time I’ll definitely eat there to enjoy them fresh. Overall, I’d highly recommend this spot and I’ll definitely be coming back!...
