Sushi Nara — Restaurant in Morgan Hill

My friend and I dined at this restaurant for the first time last night. Upon our arrival at approximately 5:30 PM, we noticed that only a few small tables were occupied, with around ten to twelve customers present. At 5:35 PM, a server came to take my order for teriyaki beef and teriyaki salmon, while my friend chose udon. Surprisingly, he did not record our orders but went directly to the kitchen. After a twenty-minute of wait, more patrons arrived, including a couple to my right, another to my left, and a few individuals in the corner and behind us. Within ten minutes of ordering, their food was served. Meanwhile, we had already waited for thirty minutes without receiving our meals. After waiting an additional fifteen minutes, still with no food in sight, I approached the server to inquire about the delay. Without checking with the kitchen, he simply stated that our food was on its way, even though other customers who had arrived later had already been served and some were finishing their meals. We waited an additional five minutes, but our dishes still had not arrived. Frustrated by the experience, I suggested to my friend that we should stand up and leave the restaurant and that we would never come back here again. It was the worst dining experience we've had...

Sushi Nara is my favorite sushi place in Morgan Hill. I get the Sushi Nara #3 almost everytime but you can't go wrong here. Their sushi rice for their nigiri is perfectly cooked and seasoned everytime and they serve large portions (by my standards for nigiri). I can't say enough how much I appreciate the quality of their food for its price. The rest of their rolls are what you expect to find at most American sushi restaurants. You can tell their sushi chefs know what they are doing. My ONLY wish is that they would use better miso for the soup but I don't really care either way. The atmosphere is perfect. It's quiet/low key (generally) which I like and it feels welcoming. I especially like one of the waiters named Michael who seems to be there every time I go. He is really attentive and friendly and now we recognize each other so he makes a little conversation whenever I come in and it's nice :). Thanks for being such a consistently great place to go for sushi each week!!!...

Really not good. I go by this restaurant everyday for 4 years and decided to finally give it a try. Ordered both chicken and beef teriyaki dinner special (comes with salad and miso soup) over the phone and was told 30-40 mins. I arrived at 30 mins for the pickup and food was already waiting. Got home (0.3 miles away), and the food was so cold. I tried the chicken and it was dry and tough. Anyway rather than bring back and complain since we had an evening planned, I decided to reheat in the microwave. But the chicken was beyond repair and heating the beef didn’t help. Luckily we had dessert (not from here) and wine!

Called the restaurant today to let them know about our experience as first time customers. After explaining what happened their only reaction was ‘so sorry about that *long awkward silence *’.
