Goku Sushi — Restaurant in Morgan Hill

Gave this new sushi restaurant a try. I really like sushi but given inflation prices for sushi rolls have gotten out of hand. I'm seeing special sushi rolls going for $17-$20 and I can easily eat 3 rolls in one sitting. So stumbling upon Goku and seeing their prices I had to give them a try. CreAsian imo has the best sushi in Morgan Hill. My other go to spot for sushi is Ariake cause they have decent sushi for the price but they are a bit of a drive for me. Kura Sushi has great prices for sushi, but it's way too far for me. When I talk of sushi I'm talking about your general sushi boat style spots and not the Omakase style, Omakase Sushi Ran is my favorite bang for buck, Amami is good too, but their Omakase gets repetitive.

Okay time for review on Goku Sushi.

My husband and I went on a date here. Service was excellent, they just opened (2 weeks ago) so they have a small staff, we waited very little. Friendly atmosphere and very relaxed. My husband tried the smoked ahi tuna sashimi (boy was that delicious) he enjoyed it. I wanted more of that. Pretty presentation as well. They give you nice thiccc slices—so that’s really nice. We also ordered their Goku roll which we will grab every time we visit, it’s balanced flavors and textures really make it delicious. There soft shell grab was cooked perfectly however the sauce that accompanied it, just wasn’t it for us. Someone else might enjoy it however we think there should be another sauce to really elevate the dish. The Lion king roll is pretty good but I personally like it a little more creamier and tiny bit sweeter. (This is from my experience of having lion king roll from multiple sushi restaurants) Lion king is one of my favorite rolls so if I had to rate it, I’d probably give it a 7/10. PERFECT SPOT FOR DATE NIGHT!. It's your classic sushi restaurant that you can count on to hit the spot. Fish was SO fresh and everything we ordered was super tasty and delicious. The restaurant was clean and the servers were nice-- what more can you ask for from a restaurant??

We ordered: Edamame- your standard salted edamame, a delightful snack for my kids

Toro on the rock- 10/10 recommend this! So fresh, melt in your mouth and it's topped with fresh wasabi. It's perfect!!

Jalapeño Hamachi- I love yellowtail, so this is a must for me

Kayla Roll- 10/10 the best role IMO.

Goku roll- also very delicious with a nice crunch!

Shrimp tempura roll- for my sister who doesn't eat anything raw. She enjoyed this!

Hamachi Kama- so so sooooo good and meaty!! Nice sized portion!
