This place is solid! I wouldn't consider this a dine in place for the family or a date place, but if you're looking for flavor at fair prices, this is the place. The chicken kebab and falafel have been consistent winners in my family. It helps the chicken is cooked over charcoal so you get a bit of that smoked flAvor. Falafel...crispy . Retains a bit of that crispness after reheating also while others don't. The roasted eggplant and cauliflower...surprisingly the kids like it and we will all fight over it. Kids eating vegetables...what's up with that? Grape leaves and baklava, can't complain. My only knock, no soups during summer and I wish they'd update their website on hours. Due to covid 19, they changed the hours . And I kind of just showed up cause I was the neighborhood. Oh well. Now I know I have to plan it. But yeah if you're in the areA, this is the place to go to for really good food. And I felt safe when I went there during this pandemic. They keep it clean and always had...
Read more1st timer here. For awhile I had my eyes on this restaurant but I like 25iah minutes away so that was 1 of the main reasons why I hadn't tried it. But I decided to go for it after running an errand around the morris plains area. Plus I had been craving Mediterranean food for a while. I scoped out the menu online and then went in person to order. I ordered the Mix Shawerma sandwich. It's chicken, veal, lamb in a pita pocket like bread with lettuce , tomatoes, sauces. They have a variety of bottled drinks as well as variety of sweets and foods that are Mediterranean that you can buy. I picked out candy bars and I was so happy they had seltzer cans ! There was a sign that prices had gone up and to add $1 to menu items. Honestly for what I got and paid I was super satisfied. The sandwich was tasty not bland at all and it legit filled me up from 1230p till about 6pm not bad I wish they were closer to me but a definite must try recommendation for you my...
Read moreIn a word, no... Possibly the worst “Israeli” food I had in the states/ever. It’s like the fake knockoff version of real Israeli food. First off, the pitas are STORE BOUGHT!!! IE dry as Matza and just as likely to break. I mean if you don’t make fresh baked pita every day why even bother? The hummus was determined by 6 different people to be “somehow worse than Sabra”. Falafel is meh... Other than that they charge $11 for a container of hummus?!!! And one last point, when I decided to try this place I called and placed an order for a hummus platter and falafel for two people. Being Israeli, I specifically asked, can you make sure there’s enough hummus for two people? (Because you know that’s a whole point of a hummus platter) And they said yes sure. We got a smidge of hummus and like 10 bone dry falafel balls to go with the week old stale store bought pita bread. Seriously guys. Change the name before the city of Haifa issues a...
