All I can say is Wow and welcome to the area. A close nit group (15 in total) of neighbors ventured out to Woodam for dinner on a Friday night. With a large group, we called in advance and they were able to accommodate us with no issues. When we all arrived, we were seated promptly at 7 and our dinning experience began. One of the bonuses of Woodam is that it is BYOB. Our group tends to favor places where we can bring out favorite drinks, rather that rely on what wines me be on the menu. We took full advantage of the BYOB and had a great selection of wines. For those who may have forgotten, they have partnered with a winery and do sell wine for your enjoyment. Can't vouch for the wine, but it is an available option. Not long after sitting down, our wine glasses were brought out and we were sipping wine in no tike and scoping out the menu. Harry our server was the best. He was friendly and personable and took the time to explain the menu and offered many great suggestions. Pretty sure amongst our entire group, we ordered a bunch of the appatizers and we shared abd had a good sampling. There were no complaints and pretty sure everything was devoured. Some of the appatizers highlighted were the Pajun - traditional sizzling pancake with scallion and mixed peppers (vegetarian, kimchi, seafood), Mandu -pan fried house made dumplings (vegetarian, beef short rib), O Jing Aw Ti Kim - tempura calamari, shitake and chayote tossed in a sweet and soy glaze. Pretty sure you can't go wrong with any of the appatizers that are offered. I also had the Soon Doo Boo - spicy hotpot stew with silken tofu and red chili pepper (choice of beef, seafood, vegetable, kimchi) must say it was super tasty and will be back for more. For the main course we split an order from the BBQ menu and a rice dish. We ordered the Bul Go Gi -thinly sliced beef rib eye and the Bok Kum Bap wok fried rice with egg, beansprouts, scallion, soy, and sesame and added the chicken! With the bbq , each table has its own grilling area and we cooked our beef rib eye to our liking. It was a very unique experience that enhanced the overall dining experience. From start to finish, it was an amazing experience that we will definitely be doing again. Whether you are looking for an intimate date night, family friendly dinner, or going out with a group of friends, you may want to pay a visit to Woodam.

I recently visited and I just had to write about our amazing experience. We had been there before, but this time, we were pleasantly surprised by the changes that had taken place. We learned that the restaurant has been taken over by new owners, and it's clear that they have made significant upgrades to the menu and overall dining experience. The flavors and presentation of the dishes have definitely been elevated. We were told that they are constantly working on further improvements, and I must say, we have high expectations for what's to come. We tried the BBQ combo, and the flavors were exquisitely refined, surpassing our previous visit. The plating was also stunning, and I have to mention that the presentation of the beef tartare was simply fantastic. What impressed us the most was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were incredibly friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to cater to our needs. We had some American friends with us who were trying Korean cuisine for the first time, and the staff took the time to explain the unique aspects of Korean BBQ and how to fully enjoy the experience. Their informative and kind explanations made a lasting impression on all of us. Woodam Korean BBQ is a place that we're genuinely excited to see thrive. The attention to detail, warm service, and passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience truly set this restaurant apart. We can't wait to see how they continue to evolve and bring even more joy to their customers. We wholeheartedly support them!

Just the place Morris Plains needed! We got the duk bok ki for an appetizer. The rice cakes were a beautiful soft texture in the thick, spicy and sweet sauce. The sauce was the perfect amount of spice that was so flavorful without leaving your mouth burning. The depth of flavor was incredible. The balance of this dish between sweet, spicy, salty and umami was really impressive. Plus the difference in textures of the beef, veggies, and the rice cake was so nice. even my picky partner said this was a new favorite! Then we had the soon doo boo, a spicy silken tofu stew, which was really good. We also ordered the spicy beef bul go gi. It was nice to cook on the BBQ right in front of us. It heat up quick! The food definitely was cooking everything faster than we could eat it! The beef comes with a few veggies and sauces. It’s so much fun to make different combinations! The spicy bul go gi was spicy enough to add flavor, but not so much that your mouth burns after eating so much of it. The depth of flavor was so wonderful. The service was friendly and professional. They were quick to get us drinks and our orders. The food came out very quickly too. Overall it was an awesome experience and we’re so happy Woodam opened just down the road from us! Also it is BYOB but they also have bottles from a local vineyard too!

Update #2 1/18/25 Wow. What happened?? Decided to go last weekend. Totally different staff - must be new management or ownership. That hospitality I so enjoyed is GONE. Service was like an assembly line. Items were left out - we were one of 2 table present. Meat options are now (over)cooked in the back kitchen instead of at tables. Definite change in quality and service. ONE broccoli floret as banchan side, seriously? It only takes a moment to ruin reputation and lose customers. I'm sorry to say I and my guests will no be back.

UPDATE 6/29/23 I so loved this place that i went back with a new guest to share the experience and enjoying again. It was incredibly kind of the staff and owner to remember me and thank me for coming back. The food was consistently superb! Mandu and Strawberry lemonade were especially tasty and decadent. The sincere hospitality and generosity of the staff is unrivaled. Thank you for another amazing dinner. See you again soon. ✌🏽

Amazing experience. Service was friendly, informative and very efficient. I like the way the entire staff worked together. Instead on one person taking care of one table, the entire staff takes care of everyone - bringing drinks, turning meats on the grill, clearing dishes, answering questions, checking in. I felt like I was in someone's home Instead of the typical restaurant experience. The food was amazing. We had appetizers and combo special. Presentation was amazing. The mandu and pajeon (sp?) were outstanding. Pajeon was sweet with bell peppers. Never had one like this. The beef combo was a simple Presentation and the food speaks for itself. I loved the chunk of beef fat and herbs used to prep the grill. Everything was cooked to perfection and the quality of the ingredients made every bite delicious. Great attention was paid to explaining and serving the side dishes - all of which were fresh and plentiful. Great on their own as well as complimenting the BBQ. I think the staff thought we didn't enjoy if because we didn't finish - we were just so FULL. We didn't have room for more. We were politely informed the kitchen was closing and asked if we wanted to order anything further. Again, it's the little details - Instead of abruptly rushing diners out - we still felt welcome and taken care of as they were closing up. FINALLY - the ginger Cinnamon drink at the end..very refreshing and surprisingly addictive. I have not been offered this at any other Korean restaurant. Another amazing touch. This is a new favorite of mine and I will absolutely be a...

I saw the opening announcement yesterday and I immediately planned on coming here with my family..It's grandparents day and what a perfect time to try this new place. We did not have reservation but gladly we were welcomed and was accomodated. We were served with salad with chili sauce as a dressing. We placed our orders...Our orders arrived except for my sisters and my dad until we were almost done eating. She ordered the pork belly that you have to grill yourself. I ordered the bimbimbap. I had asked for beef and fried egg as it was mentioned on the menu that it is a special request. I had told our waiter that i wanted both and he said he will try but he thinks i can only have one choice. When my food arrived i noticed the there was no egg and it had brown rice...i told him i did not ask or was asked if i wanted brown rice...so i was dissappointed. Our water was never refilled too..It was a busy evening though and it seemed like they did not have enough staff...the grill also was not working right on our table. I thought to myself, this place just opened the day before for it to not have a proper working grill...but things happens...my daughter had the korean chicken bbq and she was served with chicken wings...i was surprised! It was cold. The japchae that my mom ordered she said was good. The ambiance inside was nice...they have a little bar in which the salads was being served from...maybe a byob if they dont have it should be offered especially if they dont have a liqour lic. Anyways, sadly I dont think i will go back. I had way better korean restaurant in the nearby town. I would still wish...
