Our experience last night was awful! Its been getting increasingly worse each visit. We used out app to order online. (A 20 min. drive from our house.) I get to the restaurant, and there are 7 people sitting at tables waiting on their meals. I check the rack for online orders, mine wasn't ready yet. There are FIVE boys working the sandwich area. That's alot of hands, what's taking so long?? They're chit chatting amongst themselves and staring off into the distance.
Then two MORE boys come from the back of house, one starts sweeping the dinning room, one is doing something with the drink machine. (why aren't they helping get all these orders out ?) As I am waiting for my online order, one man finally gets his meal. Something was wrong, they had to remake it- that took entirely too long. Another man receives his food. There are still about 4 people and myself waiting for our food. The boys at the sandwich counter seem annoyed and are working with NO urgency at all. (I waited 15 mins for my online order after placing it twenty mins prior.) I get my food. We had two cups of potato soup for our sides. When I tell you we had three bites each. That isn't an exaggeration. We got one fourth of the cup full... that was a waste one of boys mumbled something regarding the soup, the other one shrugged as he scooped in the bowls. I got the new prime rib sandwich and IT WAS COLD. Not cool, not room temp but ICE COLD. I was under the impression it was a hot sandwich. Cold meat. Cold cheese. Was missing the garlic aoloi. Online I had checked we wanted A1 and Captian sauce, of course they weren't in the bag. I met a couple walking in as I was walking, told themselves to save the aggravation and...
Read moreI hadn't been to a Firehouse in over 10 years so I was really looking forward to it when my sister suggested it for dinner while I was visiting. I was quite disappointed when we walked in & I didn't hear anything. In fact, the next 2 parties to enter after us were not greeted either. Then the door opened & I finally heard it, "Welcome to Firehouse". We ordered our sandwiches & when we were paying, we realized the guy had assumed we wanted small subs. When we brought to his attention that we wanted large subs, he glared at us, sighed & explained he would have to delete & re-enter the entire order. My feeling was, it was only 3 sandwiches & he should have asked instead of assumed if he was actually going to have to redo the whole thing. He fixed the order & it took about 10 minutes for the order to be ready. My sister & her husband were both happy with their sandwiches: hook & ladders. I chose the engineer & wasn't quite so happy. The meat was delicious, but the mushrooms didn't seem to fit & I never did see or taste any cheese. In addition, the sandwich seemed to be lacking salt overall. I had requested the addition of jalapenos & cucumber. I thought they may have forgotten the jalapeno at first, but I found 2 slices on the sandwich while I was eating. I wish there had been more!! Maybe it had been so long since I had Firehouse, I remembered it better than it ever was. Maybe not. I will say that even though I will not be rushing back to this location, I will be looking for another location to see if my faith in Firehouse can...
Read moreEDIT: I'm editing my first review of 3 stars and changing it to 4. I gave them another chance, and it was much better this time. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was more friendly. They still don't look like they want to be there much, but they did speak to me and were courteous.
First, the three stars instead of one or two stars is because the sandwiches were very good. They were made just like we ordered them. The three stars instead of four or five is due to the cleanliness of the restaurant and the customer service. Like other patrons have stated, my husband was not even greeted when he came in. The workers just looked at him like he was the one who should start talking. My husband said there was a big spill in front of the drink machine. They had placed a sign about the wet floor but had not even cleaned up the spilled drink. He was not happy at all with the staff, and he is usually a "give them the benefit of the doubt" kind of guy, so the service must have been...
