Disappointing Experience at Crawford’s Genuine – RDU Airport (5/12/2025) I had a very disappointing experience at Crawford’s Genuine located in Raleigh-Durham International Airport. I ordered the smoked chicken wings, and to my surprise, they were clearly undercooked. I immediately brought this to the attention of Gary M. and a manager who was walking around the open kitchen area. I even snapped a photo of the wings to document how underdone they looked.

When I requested a replacement and asked for the smash burger instead, the manager insisted that the wings were “well done” and explained that the red/pink appearance was due to blood vessels in larger drumsticks. While I understand that smoked meats can sometimes have a pink hue, this was clearly undercooked—not just a color issue.

Rather than taking responsibility or offering to comp the meal, the manager simply asked whether the wings were taken off the bill and charged me for the burger and fries I had to order in place of the wings. There was no real acknowledgment of the mistake or effort to make things right.

This experience was a total letdown, especially at a restaurant tied to a well-known chef. I expected better food safety, customer service, and accountability. Travelers deserve better—especially when dining in a captive airport environment where options...

DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE: from sitting on a wet table cleaned with a wet paper napkin left from the previous person, we witnessed front row how the bartenders don’t wash their hands. They directly go from hand grabbing cherries to make a cocktail, tooth pick mixing cocktails, collecting dirty dishes, charging cards, making more cocktails, serving water with the same water nozzle the other waiters use, serving ice same scoop all the waiter use, replacing spirits serving noodles with their hands, bringing silverware from somewhere on their hands and rolling them with clean napkins for new costumers, yes, also cleaning their faces and then to the pockets, no washing hands at all. If there are cameras please check them ASAP!!! Not sure what’s the USPH score but the airport location is disgusting! The only manager on sight was doing the job of the kitchen runner when not doing in kitchen duties. She was wearing ONE glove and didn’t change it since we arrive till we left. Food wasn’t exceptional either not worthy the wait; check it out...

After a long day of travel and a delayed flight, we decided to dine at Crawford Genuine and it turned out to be the best decision we made. Mama Gigi made our afternoon truly unforgettable with her kindness, efficiency, and incredible attention to detail.

From the moment she greeted us, she made us feel completely at ease, turning what could have been a stressful day into a delightful experience. Her recommendations were perfect, and she checked in ensuring we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.

Despite our rough start to the day, Mama Gigi’s warm personality and exceptional service left us feeling cared for and uplifted. She truly went above and beyond to make our meal special, and we’re so grateful for her hospitality.
