Family friendliest place!!! I've been going to Chubby's for 40+ years now!! Probably don't need to say anymore than that, but I'll give you the run down. In 40 years, the only thing that's really changed is the location, uniforms, and some new friendly faces. Honestly!!
Fast, friendly service. Super yummy food on our table in approx. 7 minutes with 3 orders, even one a custom order. Coffee was refreshed, or offered at least 4 times in about 30-40 mins! The staff always checks on each other's tables, and runs each other's food; so it works like a well oiled machine, with down home food and friendliness! This is our breakfast go-to, even though we live 25mi away now. Fun fact: Chubby's is the home of the "throwed roll"!! A really fun thing all kids must experience once!! Also, everything's made from scratch! If you go for lunch, or dinner; the *fried chicken is an ABSOLUTE MUST!!! I believe they still have their all you can eat buffet on Fridays, with fried chicken, and fried fish (for sure during Lent, unsure if fried fish is year round). Let me reiterate... Everything is made from scratch!!! This place is worth the trip, and is a MUST, at least once! But one time is all it takes, and you're hooked! The atmosphere is so down home country, all that one wants the world to go back to where everyone is friendly to everyone, and if your kid should cry, or make a run for it, nobody is going to scoff at you. Most likely you'll get some laughs and may even get a helping hand. Lol! 😆 *Starts about 10:30am through the rest of the hours of operation. **Plan on it being a longer wait, as fried chicken takes a while to cook...
Read moreWell at the bottom is a old review from months ago.. Sad to say but things have gone down hill from there. The food is getting worse and service seems off. I will not say names but I know why. It's not the waitresses it's the cooking. Last 2 times I was there I asked for a certain meat not to have pink and to be cripy. Both times came out punk. They took back and cook put in microwave. An everyone knows grease turns a white color in a microwave if heated to long. My as well gave me a raw hide. An heard cook yelling at server when I passed at kitchen. An not just yelling the cook was cussing. Now I understood why the servers were not happy looking. Why would anyone want to be happy working all day with that. If I was the owner I would get rid of the toxic moral downer. An get one that believes the whole staff makes the place a better place to be. Also I am not sure if it's the food or cleaning of oil. But last 2 times I have left I felt like had to use restroom right away. Tables were very...
Read moreI was in this establishment and a waitress threw a roll directly at me. She threw them in the direction of my shirt which a pair of glasses I was wearing was on and broke them. When I tried to speak to the manager/owner BILL about this, he acted as if he didn't care. He took the waitress' side and proceed to tell me he had a hard time believing that a piece of bread broke my glasses. Like I got some wonder bread thrown at me or something. If the bread is a HARD ROLL, it is possible. Bill didn't even try to do anything to earn my business, it was like, "oh well, better luck next time." I will never eat in this establishment ever again. To me, it wasn't necessarily about the glasses, it was the principal. I feel like if I were one of the good, old boys who normally come in, the problem would have been resolved. But since I am a person of color, I get swept under the rug. I would encourage anyone who is in the Lincoln County area, NOT to eat...
