Hi my name’s Inga. While driving from the Des Moines metro to Southern Illinois today, my car’s engine light started flashing. According to Google maps, I was near an auto repair place and immediately drove there. The guy said it’d be about 30 minutes until he could look at my car. I asked if there was a place for lunch around here. He said to check out the gas station nearby. ( It’s called Moscow Crossing .). He said the sandwiches were excellent.
So I walk there and asked if there were hamburgers. The manager said the grill was closed for the day. While smile the cook was walking out, the manager asked if he could make a hamburger for me. He said sure. I was so pleasantly surprised but also felt bad that the manager asked the cook to make a hamburger. Mike is his name. He made the hamburger and when I thanked him, he said no problem and that he had to clean up the grill anyway.
The hamburger was delicious. They also have Philly beef and chicken sandwiches. The gas station sign is broken outside.
Thanks Mike for making me that delicious hamburger. I feel uplifted by humanity. One small gesture of kindness is so great.
