UPDATEUPDATEUPDATE Tried it a second time with family. Customer service was MUCH better. Our server was nice. Didn't check back after she delivered our food, but she was okay.
My daughter really liked the Bubble Tea. I ordered the Spring Rolls again, they were the same: extremely chewy/rubbery and bland. Was hoping they'd be better than the last time. They weren't. But I knew to order extra peanut sauce to help them out.
Entrees were good. Decent portions and I have to say again, the produce is so clean and fresh! Kudos for that!
The atmosphere is nice. Very clean and inviting. We got there before the dinner rush. It really started to get busy before we left. Love seeing locals support the small family run businesses!
INITIAL REVIEW---ONE STAR I checked the reviews. They were good for the most part. The bad ones mostly had to do with customer service. I decided to give them a try anyways.
I placed my order online through eat24, who partners with Pho Saigon. I arrived to pick up my order, and it wasn't ready. They hadn't received the order from eat24. Understanding that isn't their fault, and they could contact them later, I placed my order again.
I ordered online because I had an appointment and had to be somewhere. The server, Christina, was very dismissive, and cold. She offered no sense of empathy or eagerness to try and make the situation right. There were two servers on and one customer in the restaurant who already had his food.
She kept trying to hurry me through my reorder. I asked for extra jalapenos but didn't receive them (they game me two very small slices total). I reminded her I asked for extra jalapenos and she reluctantly went to get them.
When she returned, I asked her name and her manager's name. I told her I was frustrated because she didn't seem to care what had happened, that now I'd be late for my appointment. She stood there and glared at me and said nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I told her it would have been nice to offer an apology. Even though it wasn't their fault, she could have pretended to care, to assure me they'd get my order out as quickly as they could. Suggested that they contact eat24 to let them know they didnt receive an order and troubleshoot it. She again just stood there and offered no response. Not one word, not even "ok" or "yeah" or "uh-huh".
**When I did arrive to pick up my order, and was met with her uncaring attitude, TRUST ME, I was just going to walk out. I had received an email confirmation from eat24 that the order was received and was being prepared. BUT...I had paid online with a debit card. There was NO way I was going to cancel the order and try and recoup my money from eat24. I read the eat24 reviews online after the fact and wished I read them before. They are a HORRIBLE company who makes it difficult to reach them.
As for the food...the food was good. Not great, good. Ordered the Beef Pho. Meat portion was skimpy, less than 2 oz. Broth seemed underdeveloped compared to Pho I've had in the past. Side vegetables were clean and fresh. Spring rolls were decent. Rice paper was extremely chewy, like they weren't soaked long enough. Made it hard to bite into to. Ingredients were fresh but very bland. Peanut sauce was delicious. Needed more to help the roll. Also ordered a Vietnamese coffee. Now that was awful. I was so elated to know I finally had a place to grab one! If you've ever had a good one, they are very flavorful. Robust coffee and rich sweetness from the condensed milk. This tasted like a watered down cafe mocha from McDonalds. It was only a 8 oz cup and it was $4.
You might think I'm crazy, but I'm going to give them another try. I'm going to try their dine-in service at dinnertime with my family. They are a family owned business that deserves a second chance and local support.
I hope the manager Danny, was notified by his server how upset I was with my experience and that he contacted eat24 to let them know of the error. An outside company can hurt your business. So can a server with non-existent customer...
Read moreThe very first time my boyfriend and I went was probably 3 years ago and when we got our food, both our dishes had moldy vegetables. Needless to say we never went back for the food. The bubble tea, on the other hand, never gave us any issues. That was the only reason we kept visiting. About 2 weeks ago our friends finally convinced us to give it another try. Atmosphere and decor are still just the same, but I have to say the quality of the food is no where near how it was during our first try. So much better and good. The only issue we had this time was the service! After they got our orders and brought them, they never came back to check. They didn't even take the hint when we all put our empty water glasses at the edge of the table. Other than that, wouldn't mind eating...
Read moreQuality that keep going down unfortunately Ive been going to this place for the past 4 years I am a chef so when I'm new in an area I make it a point to try every restaurant a few times and this one I kept coming back to but over the last year it's been really lacking for instance tonight I went there and ordered a Bahn MI and after going through almost an air lock to pay I get handed a bag with my sandwich in and and the smell was like rotting gargantuan so I opened the bag and took the sandwich out and it smelt fine it was just the bag so I get home and start eating and the chickens bad I've complained about this a few times but nothing changes so now I'm to the point of leaving a review which I'd a shout...
