To ALL “CRITICS “ of taco shop, thank you all for your opinions good and bad. My grandparents purchased the taco shop in the late 70’s and after my grandparents were no longer age appropriate to run things like they once did , we had some issues with the place yes. And after myself working there for 19 YEARS now I must say that things haven’t been easy and I’m sorry for your bad experiences. But last year my uncle took over and is now the new owner, and it’s not easy trying to pick up all the pieces to get back to where they once were. So for anyone who really wants to know the truth about us and our place. Our food is “TEX-MEX!” And anyone who is saying otherwise doesn’t know what they are talking about. My family comes from the texas-Mexico border. And my great grandparents come from Mexico but moved to Texas very young. So our food is what’s always been Tex-Mex or “tejano style “ is what a lot of our fellow Texas customers call it. Yes we also have an American menu as well but it’s mainly because we get all families of all races and a lot of times their small kids only want stuff like corn dogs or whatever. And if people think that just because you are able to order a crisp taco that makes us like taco time or Taco Bell because that’s not Mexican food. Then go try Incas MEXICAN restaurant and look to see what kind of tacos they have there. Also to the lady who said all that nice stuff about how she had to wait an entire 10 minutes in the sun for her food and then the owner charged her for her drinks. I was working that day and remember EXACTLY what happened. First of all, that girl who took your order, it was her FIRST DAY! Second, we were INSANELY busy. And I’m sorry we didn’t live up to your standards. There is only one cook(my uncle/the owner) and there was only myself and the new girl. Plus I’m only one person, I can only do so much at one time. So. Hopefully that helps out some of your unanswered questions. Or if not, come in and find out for yourself. And just one more thing. Our food is made by us. It’s NOT processed. And our beans are only microwaved if you choose to have cheese on them because that’s how we melt the...
Read moreJust had the worst taco experience! Wait staff was untrained and the first tab came to $96.46. Realizing her mistske before I had to point out, she voided and started over. When I asked for carne asada tacos, the first red flag went up! Reply "we only have ground beef and chicken." So I went with chicken. 3 tacos with rice and beans, 2 tostadas with rice and beans with two fountain drinks costs $26.86!
We were given a number and I indicated we would be sitting outside. After 5 minutes in the sun, no food. I went in and asked if I could get the drinks while we wait. Reply! "That's too confusung!" Only after I gasped did i get the drinks. After waiting another 5 mins. Still no food. We went in to get a refund, and the owner/ manager had the nerve to try and charge for the soda!!! Yikes. My advice, keep driving and find another place to do business and get more...
Read moreOmg... If I could give this establishment negative stars I would. My husband and I visited on Saturday during memorial weekend. Because of the holiday I was expecting it to be busy. It was pricy( $10 per meal) and considering they have a fairly simple menu I found it hard to believe that our meals (a burrito a torta and a taco with beens cheese and tiny amounts of beef and a small soda) would take 45 minutes to make.. I guess i should of asked how long it would take but they probably should of proactively let us know. Considering their continuous use of a microwave i shouldn't of been surprised that the food was not all that great. The lack of ground beef was laughable honestly. Not only that but it had my husband in the bathroom all night. I would not recommend this place to my enemy so if you are looking for a quick bite at a taco shop find another one to...
