My wife and I have been here several times and enjoy the food but the service has taken a serious nosedive over the past year. There is one waiter in particular who has forgotten to bring us our guacamole twice now but didn't forget to charge us. He has also gotten my order wrong on at least one occasion. About a month ago we were sitting at our table and a roach crawled up on the wall beside us. I killed it with a napkin and didn't say anything to the waitress but she must have seen me because she sent the manager over. He gave us our drinks and appetizer for free which was nice. Last night, we were going to call in an order for pickup and the girl picked up the phone and asked if we could hold a minute and I said sure. She put the phone down and proceeded to check people out for the next 8 minutes. I could hear her in the background. When we got to the drive through window I explained this to the manager and he kept interrupting me and told me to calm down when I was completely calm. I was just trying to tell him about an action of his employee that needed correcting. This is our favorite Mexican place in Mt. Airy and I hope the service starts back in the right direction but another couple of times like this and I'll find...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at Chile Rojo was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that truly captured the essence of authentic Mexican cuisine. One of the highlights of my meal was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive and efficient, ensuring that my every need was met. I was particularly impressed by the promptness of the refills, which kept my glass full without me having to ask. The star of the show, however, was undoubtedly the food. The rice was cooked to absolute perfection, each grain tender and flavorful. It was clear that the chefs had a deep understanding of Mexican culinary traditions. The cheese dip was another standout, boasting the ideal consistency that was both creamy and rich. While the salsa could have used a bit of a kick, everything else I tried was cooked to perfection. The flavors were bold and authentic, transporting me straight to the heart of Mexico. Overall, my experience at Chile Rojo was top-tier. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a truly memorable dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a taste of authentic...
Read moreWe took a day trip to Mount Airy and found many of the restaurants in town were closed on Sunday.
So we continued to google food in the area and stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant.
As we were approaching the restaurant, I noticed that they had a really decent size outdoor seating area with a lovely fountain however closed because of the season but nice to know they have it.
We love the style of the building & the decor evokes memories of Mexico. It’s festive!
My husband & I focused on the lunch menu.
We also tried a guacamole appetizer that was very delicious!
I also really enjoyed the mild salsa they bring out immediately with chips.
My husband requested a hotter salsa for himself and they brought it out.
We both really liked the flavor profile at this restaurant. It’s tasty food!
I didn’t catch the name of my husband’s main dish but he loved it!
I went with the fajita taco salad with grilled chicken. I did my own thing & poured the mild salsa they brought out with the chips over my bowl & it made it even more delicious!
Check out Chile Rojo the next time you are in...
