Dairy Center — Restaurant in Mount Airy

Absolutely love the laid back, friendly & personal staff. My Daddy introduced me to the owner which he spoke very highly of making the comment that the owner was one of the most generous and humble people he knew. & My father is a great judge of character. The owner had a decent conversation with my father and they spoke like old friendscasual, personal & exceptionally kind & warm, genuine southern hospitality. & very down to earth. & I have to elaborate, the genuine hospitality upon visiting this establishment meant more to me than they will ever know. It's a quaint, nice place for a father-daughter lunch. 💎 This establishment is clean, prices are reasonable and the portions of food are satisfying & very generous. I would recommend stopping in for lunch and experiencing the delicious food, friendly, fast & exceptional service. & The option to dine in or take out is convenient. I thought I had given this place a review. The food is okay, but the reason for 1 star and the reason I'll never be back is how my daughter and I were treated here. It was the second time we had come here and we didn't know it was cash only. when our food came out and I realized they didn't take card, they told me and my daughter that we were there to scam them and that we must have known they don't take card. I even had some cash but not enough for the order. when I got home, I found out they had gotten my order wrong anyways and the price they gave me was a good deal more then my order would have been had they got it right. I certainly don't need free food from them.. But for them to treat someone like that, standing their with a 6 year old girl, who may very well need something to eat, is all I need to know about these people.

I actually owe 10 dollars and that busy waitress a tip I forgot they only take cash but it was too late there she was with the bag of food and there I was late with only plastic sorry mystery waitress.....I love this place btw you can have your food inside and its like a 50's dinner or you can have it in your car like a drive in I love those things and it's good old down home burgers and fries type of place and they make a good cup of coffee!
