Surry County Fair — Local services in Mount Airy

My family went yesterday and we had fun. It was the first time I had been in years. Everyone was nice and the kids didn't have to wait to get on rides. My only gripe was the price. Honestly if someone is reading that has decision making power over the Surry county Fair you suck. Yeah we did come one time this year and yes we had fun but why do we need to spend 200 to be there. Not only that but there were things there that actually required money to do .my kids would have live the trampolines or the mirror maze which would be considered rides but even though we had spent all that money we still needed to pay for those ? We had fun but know this that fair is a joke and it will be the last time you get our money. Anyone reading this we are going to the Stokes county Fair next week and 40 dollars will cover my entire family with unlimited rides. Never again...

Happy to see the kids enjoy themselves for a short bit. I wish that a few things were different. Like that you have to pay twice to even get in! Once for the county and than again for the fair it's self. The food was WAY expensive for VERY little. Next time will be sure to buy county fair food from there concession instead of from vendors. They will over charge for 10 nachos and a tablespoon of cheese, & $5 bucks a slice of pizza that cooked twice and definitely overcooked. Kids were hungry so they didn't complain thank God! Otherwise I would say it was just nice to be with family, but next time we will definitely go to a different fair...

The Surry County agricultural fair is really bad this year. I'm not the only one complaining. Everyone I've walked by is complaining . It's very much smaller. No space ship, no open air gravity thing, no zipper, no pirate ship, no arcade area with the quarter push machines, no fun house, they don't even have very many food game vendors.
