Mc Big Mama's Soul Food — Restaurant in Mount Carmel

I'm NGL, I was super suprised this place wasn't packed when my family pulled up. All the food is made to order, this is NOT a fast food spot. If that's what you're looking for, keep it moving. This food is worth the wait and the money, no matter which way you slice it.

When you walk in you're gonna head straight back to the left there's pics with the review so you'll see what I'm saying. If you have had soul food before you know what's up, for those of you who haven't imma hook you up.

My wife and I both got the catfish with Mac n cheese, greens and sweet tea, it also came w some cornbread which was bussin 💯. The seasoning on that catfish yall is fire, the crunch in every bite was perfection. The Mac n cheese melts in your mouth, that's some real homemade southern Mac n cheese. The collard greens were good, a little sweet for us personally but that's all good. Everyone likes what they like, if it had a little more smokiness and some kick I would tear it up. If you come here and don't get the sweet tea you're missing out for sure.

My kid got the chicken and waffles, and he tore it up. Now if it was me, that shxt would be down to the gristle, ya feel me? But he went ham on that platter 💯. My daughter in law got the catfish sandwich and fries, it was GONE yall 😆 The ambiance to this place is real relaxed and chill. The customer service was amazing, the guy that took our order brought our food out to us and checked on us. Even Mama came out and made sure we were happy.

I appreciate having this spot and these amazing people nearby. My family ain't originally from around here, so to find a diamond in the coal mines... that made my day. It was like a taste from home for real, brought me back to the cookouts back in the day. I needed that, and this area needs yall. I hope this spot gets the recognition you deserve and keep it pushin. Can't wait to bring my mom up there and smack her taste buds...

I ordered from Door Dash. I ordered the big breakfast. A side of Mac and cheese for later. And a small iced coffee. The picture on the website showed regular scrambled eggs. But I received eggs with peppers in them. I can't eat peppers. So I wasn't happy about that. The picture should reflect the product. And then list options. The coffee was good. But I thought it was just a little too much for the size. So $28+ with free delivery...

I love everything about this place the food was amazing like top of the line loved the jazz music loved the atmosphere the staff was amazing and very helpful the catfish hands down was one of the best Iv have ever tasted like every thing was cooked perfectly had lunch here sat outside good jazz music was playing this was a really good experience will definitely be going back and they also have a lot more to offer...
