Orleans Sports Cafe — Restaurant in Mount Clemens

Just. A. Bad. Experience.

Unfortunately, I came here with my friends on a slow Saturday night. We were not greeted or asked for seating but instead had to find a waitress hiding behind the bar for a table. Nearly 20 minutes went by before we got our water. Then, a good 20-30 minutes later my friend had to go find our waitress to get menus. It was terrible customer service but I tried to put it aside because I like the restaurant for it's table games. Soon after we ordered I asked for the shuffleboard pucks(probably the wrong terminology but you get the idea) and was kindly told they just needed to hold on to my ID. That's it. I ended up leaving the restaurant without my ID. That is where the trouble really started. I came in 2 days later to pick it up but was told by an extremely dogmatic manager that they wouldn't give it back til I paid $28 for shuffleboard! I kindly explained that I was not informed and that I would appreciate it if he could cut me a deal but was consistently told that I was without a doubt in the wrong. I was forced to pay for my license and for an employee's blunder. I would never have even played shuffleboard there if I knew it was a whopping $9 an hour! This experience really ruined a decent and fun venue for me. I thought Orleans was a nice place but I would not go there again. Disrespectful and prejudiced institutions are not the place for me. Been coming to Orleans for many years now, once ot twice a year on average nowadays. Food is always good, now this is not 5 star cuisine, but we've always enjoyed everything we've ordered, it's a bar with good food! Always served fresh and hot. Would definitely recommend the pretzel appetizer, get a few though! We also enjoy the burgers and pizza as well as their paninis. Service is typical of a bar that you are not a regular customer of. Our waitress was nice, everything came as ordered but that was the extent of it. The atmosphere hasn't changed in years or ever for that matter lol. Nice little patio out front and garage doors that open in the summer time. Free parking, after 6pm weekdays and always free on weekends in the large public parking lot across the street. While the food was good the price wasn't justifiable as well as the male bartender was extremely rude. I was super hungry so pretty much the second he laid the menu down my sister said, "We are ready to order" and he rudely said back, "I am not ready to take your order." Okay, but why the attitude? Mind you it's Wednesday and there is only 6 of us at the bar . My sister is hard of hearing so she thought the bartender said, "I don't take orders" so my sister tried flagging down a waiter who looked so put out that my sister dare ask her anything. This bartender, I kid you not, stopped mid walk to wherever he was heading to glare and state, "are you kidding me!?" 😳 If I wasn't hungry we would have left right then.
