Went there for a 50th birthday party last night. The reservation was made weeks in advance. There were about 40-50 of us. Bath City was woefully understaffed to handle both our party plus the normal flow of patrons, so service was extremely slow. It took 15 minutes to get a first round of drinks and then we kind of got forgotten about multiple times. I went to the bar to get a second round and the bartender refused to serve me because she was slammed at the service well. "I'm not taking anyone at the bar right now." One of the drinks in the second round came in a plastic cup and we had to ask for a pint glass for the can of Guinness, which was hot and fresh out of the dishwasher (I'm guessing they were running low on glassware). We finally got to order as the rest of the group was getting their food, and when the food did come out, it was mediocre. The roast beef on the French dip sandwich was cold, and the pasta Siciliano was woefully undersauced with about 4 oz. of dry, overcooked chicken breast on top. When I asked for the pasta (that had clearly barely been touched, picture attached) to be removed from the bill, the waitress got huffy and even knocked silverware off the table in her snit to get away from us. We were calm about the whole thing, and having been in the service industry for ten years, I understood what was going on... There was no need to get huffy about it. The dish was made poorly - period. Nobody wants to eat a giant bowl of plain spaghetti and dry chicken. To top it off, as I was walking upstairs, a girl was heading downstairs with a full pan full of gravy that became unbalanced and splashed all over the carpet and me. "Sorry about that," was all I got. I washed the gravy off of my pants and sweater only to return and be met with last call at 9:45, an hour and fifteen minutes before they closed. We decided not to give them any more of our money and promptly left. We obviously won't be back.

Bath City Bistro in downtown Mt. Clemens is restaurant/bar in the heart of the city. They offer simple food, like chicken fingers, to more filling meals, such as braised ribs or cinnamon-chili rubbed port loin. The quality of the food for this type of restaurant is average, but the setting is nice and the prices aren't out of line with similar eateries in the area. Bath City is one of only two sites in the metro Detroit area to offer feather bowling - a game with aspects of bocce, bowling, and plenty of its own personality. It's fun for couples or groups, but in my opinion, six to eight is ideal. There are servers assigned to your lane, so drinks and even hor d'oeuvres can be brought to you as you play. Book by the hour as far in advance as you can as weekend slots fill up quickly. (Cadieux Café in Detroit is the only other place in the area offering feather bowling, but it has a much more "neighborhood bar" feel. It's right on Cadieux in the middle of a residential area with darts and karaoke in addition to food and drinks.) Check out Bath City Bistro and some of the unique shops in the downtown area.

We were there on Friday with a group of people who all thought, as well as I, that it was one of the worst restaurant experiences we had ever had. We got there on a Friday night and it was mostly empty. I had to go ask for menus the first 5 minutes we were there. After being there about 10 min a waitress finally showed up to take our drink order. I asked for Iced Tea and she asked if I wanted a glass that only gets one refill or a pitcher. One refill on iced tea? It's glorified water are you serious? Coney Island doesn't even have a one refill policy. So I said nevermind and had water. Once everyone was there we ordered appetizers and our food. appetizers took quite a while. We order the steak and portabello's. My dog get's better steak in his dish than the alpo we received. way too much money for the quality of steak. OUr friends had dip and chips for theirs and they said the chips were stale. The waitress argued them that they were made that morning. So what if they were made 10 hours ago they are stale! Then we asked for more napkins and she argued that she had already brought a stack early. Don't care lady, we need more! Then she came back and agreed the chips were stale. Took forever for her to come back between trips. She was rude. She kept walking away WHILE we were talking to her and she would answer while walking away. My friend and I had left the table and the waitress asked if the table wanted dessert while we were gone and we had come back and my friend asked to order dessert. Guess what to our surprise... the waitress argued with us again. She's like "I already asked if you wanted dessert" my friend told her that she wasn't at the table when she asked. She got her dessert (ice cream was freezer burnt) and then the waitress decided to make a comment on how little she ate. Aside from the waitress, the room (lane 1) was hot as heck and stuffy. There was no music unless you wanted to pay for a juke box tune and the tv's were older than me and could barely pick up the baseball game and too top it off there were no changing tables in the rest room! How can you have highchairs but not have a changing table??? Disappointed that we were told to leave and that you close at 10. Ever heard of putting the close time...

Horrible experience from start to finish. Tried going in, in early November to book a lane for December 10. Left a message with the hostess for someone to call us back because the booking person was not there. A few weeks passed and we called back to find the only time they had left was from 930-11PM. Ok we take it. Show up with our party of 40+ and wait, tried to go to the bar for a drink, and they wont serve you at the bar, you have to wait for your waitress (that is nonexistent). Bar tender has an attitude. Waitress finally shows up with her attitude, takes drink orders and disappears for 20 minutes then comes back with some of the drinks. She takes food orders and disappears again. Comes back out with the food, Mine was wrong and cold, But I ate it just because I was hungry and I didnt want to wait another who knows how long. Another member of out party ordered some kind of pasta dish that was served cold when he asked to send it back, little miss attitude snatched the plate off of the table knocking the silverware off the table and onto the lap of the patron. And marches off. Another couple ordered 2 dinners that did not come out and then they tried to charge them for the dinners, they complained and were finally served in carry out containers. They tried to charge my brother for more drinks than they received. And the floor was filthy. also witnessed another party of five get up and walk out after the same waitress got into an argument with them. We finally headed to the lane at 930, thought we had an hour and a half, we actually had 1 hour and the bar closed at 10 which we found out about at 10:05 they would not even give one of our party members a glass of water. Absolute worst service I have ever received anywhere, ever. Food was mediocre, cold and bland. And that attitude the waitress had was uncalled for. I have no intention of ever walking back into this place ever again. They do not even...
