Mediocre food accompanied by atrocious service! Last evening (August 12th, 2013 - 7:45PM) I arrived just ahead of an elderly gentleman and we waited approximately fifteen minutes to be seated. Once seated I waited even longer for my server to greet me and take my drink/ food order. About the time my food arrived I noticed that the elderly gentleman who had been seated at the same time as me still hadn't been greeted by his respective server, let alone placed his drink/ food order. At this point the gentleman approached the hostess to try and get service and she assured him someone would be along shortly. I finished my meal and it was apparent that no one had come to assist the elderly gentleman. At this point I approached the bar and requested to speak with the manager... the bartender informed me that the manager was in the kitchen and was too busy to speak with me... so I informed the bartender that one of their guests hadn't been greeted after a tremendously long wait in thier dining room. I stuck around to ensure the elderly man was served, and he eventually was by the bartender. I also took the liberty of paying for the elderly man's dinner since I felt bad that he was forced to wait so long for his meal. This morning (August 13th, 2013 - 10:00AM) I returned and requested to speak with the manager to inform them of my appalling experience... this time they were working in the bakery and again they were too busy to speak with me. I requested the owner's (Mark Reece) contact information and received a business card with nothing more than the owner's name and the main line phone number to the restaurant and bakery... I called to speak with the owner shortly after my visit (August 13th, 2013 - 10:40AM) but apparently he was working in the bakery and was unavailable to address my concerns!!!!! My family is boycotting this establishment and will be spreading the word to other property owners here...
Read moreThe balls it takes to charge $30 for a “lobster roll” which is NOT a roll but a hamburger style sandwich with what looked like a ground lobster meat mixture (looked and tasted like imitation lobster meat mixture). The service not great either. Looked annoyed when I asked about the lobster rolls not coming out on a roll how it is classically served. How do you call it a roll and serve it hamburger style?? Supposed to be chunky bits of lobster, not all pink ground meat looking mixture. The texture of it was off putting if you’re expecting a classic lobster roll. Traveling with our family from Boston to Acadia and back down for a week and this was the worse meal of our trip, and absolutely the worst lobster roll I’ve had in any state! We spent the day in Acadia and allow in our budget to split 1 lobster roll a day and this was an absolute disappointment. Livid we spent $70 on a “lobster roll”, a pizza, and a mediocre salad…and the literal worst clam chowder I’ve ever had. It was so thin, was just like warm buttery milk. The atmosphere has no charm or character. Even when I asked during initial drink order if they had KIDS WATER CUPS and she said yes, but what she gave me was just a to go coffee cup with the sipper style lids - my toddler immediately spilled it all over the booth and of course my 10 month old in a high chair needed a straw not that…just the worst experience of our entire family...
Read moreWe hiked up Acadia mountain then found this little gem in downtown Northeast Harbor. The waitress was so sweet and attentive. They have gluten free option for sandwiches and the pizza. We got the seafood pizza, lobster quesadilla, and chicken wings. They are not skimpy on the seafood at all. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken wings were YUM and the seafood pizza… well I’m still thinking about it! The cocktails are good and priced very well. They waitress found out it was my birthday and brought me the one gluten free dessert they had and my family sang happy birthday to me. It was very sweet!! As a birthday treat I got the Royal Martini which is a coffee martini. Usually coffee martinis are very sweet which I do not prefer but this one was perfect. Strong coffee flavor with a hint of sweet. This will be our spot from now on when we bring visitors to Acadia...
