Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Mount Dora

I have been going to this location since I was child and I stopped in the other day for dinner and I will never go back. I placed an order on their app and got my confirmation code and pick up time so headed to pick up my food. When I get there the young girl Emily informed me they didn't have my order so she asked the manager on duty (her name was something like Samar or Samir I can't remember) and the manager blew it off and said oh well and walked away. I of course was not going to take oh well for an answer so I did not leave ( we ended up being there almost 45 mins trying to figure this out) The manager called the owners who then proceeded to be no help and even made a comment about me possibly having a fake receipt on my email. So I went to my app to show that receipt as well and my phone died as I was showing the girl on my app so I went to my car to charge my phone. When I came back in my order appeared and was done. My order was there the entire time but their systems were being funky and it put my order under random letters. Then I was told their systems run behind sometimes which I understand happens but the manager should have informed us and tried to help us solve this problem instead of blowing it off and walking away. She pushed it off on Emily. This is such poor management and I did tell Emily thank you for helping and doing what your manager should have done. Emily showed more managerial experience than the actual manager. I'm sure the food would have been great but it was so long before we got to eat it that it was cold...

This place has quite a few good reviews but honestly, I was highly unimpressed.

I got food from here a few days ago, the wait time wasn’t that bad compared to other places, I’ll give them that but. The quality of the order was horrible. (I went through DT, keep that in mind)

So, first error I found which was after I had already left the parking lot, was their soda syrup needed to either be change or calibrated because it was very weak. Not a major issue, I can live with it. Fries were good, I’ll give them that. The burger I got wasn’t that great. They microwaved the ENTIRE sandwich, condiments and all. I understand they have to melt the cheese, and perhaps they don’t have a grill (I don’t know) but that’s a highly ineffective way to melt cheese. My entire sandwich was too hot to even hold, including the bun. The burger was super bland, and just overall not good at all. I also got a small brownie dough blizzard, and that wasn’t great at all either. I only ate about half of it and I was done. I can’t really tell what the issue was, but it just wasn’t good.

The quality of the food, combined with the quality and cleanliness of the stores exterior, 2 stars seems fitting. There’s a few areas they could improve in and honestly could probably be a really good store but. For $11, I’d rather visit Arby’s...

First, we tried to go through the drive thru and was told it wasn't open because of "blind mosquitoes." So we went inside and tried to place an order. The young lady was seeming in another world as it took her a few attempts to get my simple order correct. I then watched as the 4 person crew messed up on 4 orders in a row. Then watched two of them find other things to do besides fix the mistakes or take the next order. One made a few unnecessary comments about how she was about to say sorry to her fellow employees but she was about to be out of here. Then I stood and watched one of the remaining two employees start one order and stand for the entire time the cookies were in the oven. Instead of doing the next order. During this whole time there was an older lady employee that would come out start something then disappear into the back without finishing it then come back and forth with or without a telephone.. I then attempted to purchase one of the mistakes they had made, a couple of brownies, which apparently the young man couldn't grasp the concept of. Then I somehow ended up paying $8 for 2 brownie somethings.. I say something's because a 5th employee came up front and put lids on them, placed them into a bag side ways, the turned them upright and it all fell together. Just an absolutely...
