Luigi's — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

Google said to they close at 10 PM. It was 9:29 and we were eight minutes away so I called ahead to see if it would be a problem for two of us to come in for a meal at that time. The lady who answered said it would be fine. She said nothing that would lead me to believe we would be expected to finish our meal and be out the door by 10. We ordered quite a bit of food and the food was very good. But it took them forever to prepare it so we didn't even receive it till around 10 and we gobbled a little bit of it as fast as we could and within 15 or 20 minutes we were packing it in to-go boxes and bagging it up. The waiter should have known that the owner would not be happy and would act mean and hateful if we were in there very much past 10. But he served us all of the food and after he brought us a few to-go boxes he disappeared. I could tell the owner was upset because of the way he was stomping around and turning the lights off by the cash register in the front. But we didn't have enough bags to put our food in and we were waiting for someone to take our credit card which they had been doing at the tables. We were trying to get somebody's attention but nobody was coming and my wife was frantically trying to get all the food together in the bags. Ultimately the man indignantly came over and got the card while we were still trying to get somebody to give us some more bags. Finally a girl gave us some more bags and we were trying to distribute the food so it wouldn't fall out in the vehicle on the way home. When the man gave me my credit card and my receipts I tried to be nice even though I could tell he wasn't being nice. I said "we're hurrying as fast as we can" and I opened my mouth to say I'm really sorry. But he blurted out "we close at 10" in an angry chastising way. I was already wondering if he was laundering money for the mob because the prices were ridiculously low, way too low to pay for the quality ingredients in the wonderful food. After he treated me in such a poor way that made it clear that he could care less if I ever came back when I bought twice as much food as anyone should for only two people and rushed as fast as I possibly could to get out of there I became convinced that my hunch was correct. I'll never go back to that place. There is no food in the world that is cheap enough and fantastic tasting enough to make somebody want to put up with a mean old man's unfair and...

Decided to have a double date with another married couple, started out great. Arrived to no one in the parking lot at peek dinner hours (should have known better!) Everything started out okay until our food arrived and it was either drowning in to much sauce or the chicken was so overdone you needed a chainsaw to get through it. One of our party members had asked for a specific sauce on her pasta, when it arrived wrong she asked about it and the waitress said nothing could really be done except she could bring a cup of the sauce she asked for so she could dump it on her pasta. ewwwww! She just declined cause the pasta was already drowning in the wrong sauce. We continue to try and enjoy our meal on to hear the waitress talking to another employee about the sauce incident like we were out of place wanting what we originally ordered! No one could finish our entrees because of either something completely ruined or just plain gross. The bill was dropped and we thought they would have at least removed the wrong item from the bill but hadn't, when the manager was asked about this, he basically said tuff poop. After a bit of back and forth he did remove it, so we left a bit upset but no worse for it, that is until 2am!! All four of us from the double date end up throwing up and having bad BAD #2 issues. We came here with local friends a few years ago and had a great experience. We were in the area today and decided to stop there for a late lunch. Came into a chlorine smelling dinning with worn out furniture. The place definitely needs an upgrade, and perhaps even the change in management. My husband and I ordered 2 different pastas and were disappointed when they brought 2 of the same dishes. To my question if the pastas are the same the waiter stated that they are practically the same even though having different names in the menu. We asked for the menu and pointed out the different discription of the dishes. The waiter then took away my dish and stated will be back. While my husband and daughter were finishing their lunch, I had to ask twice for a refill of my drink. I got tired of waiting and headed to cashier to pay for the food we did get to find yet another disappointed. Who appeared to be the owner was busy calculating tips with another waiter and after finishing did not seem concerned with the issues we brought to his attention. Instead, he was short and rude with his attitude and answers.
