I have always driven to Newark get my pizza from Pizza Cottage it's always very hot completely covered in pepperonis that are baked to a crispy perfection. I live 10 minutes away from the one in Mount Vernon, I order a large pizza they told me 20 minutes I was there in 10 minutes surprised that they said my pizza was ready they gave it to me the box was actually cool the pizza inside was cold as though it had been in the refrigerator overnight the pizza crust was rubbery the way it is when you store pizza in the refrigerator overnight this was not a freshly made pizza at all. And if you get more than two pepperonis on one slice then you have truly hit a gold mine with this Mount Vernon facility. They have so many bad reviews but I decided to give them a try they are terrible. If they don't do something about their customer service and they're cooking last night's it won't be open for long I will never order from there again I will happily drive to Newark to treat myself to good pizza I can drive from Mount Vernon to Newark come home and my pizza is still hotter than the pizza I picked up in Mount...
Read moreI called in my pickup order and ordered a large pep and sausage, a large half and half specialty, and cheesy garlic bread. When I get here the gal that took my order didn’t hear my first pizza order (even though on the phone she said okay anything else after the first pizza order), she had trouble entering the second pizza because of the half and half which is fine but makes me think she must’ve deleted the first pizza, so I get here and she quotes me 10-15 minutes for the pizza, has an attitude about it, and then I wait over 15 mins before asking to check on my pizza and they said they didn’t know about the mixup and the pizza was just now getting in the oven. I asked her if she could go and request to put my pizza at the top of the queue if at all possible and she said okay and walked back and came back after a few minutes but apparently didn’t say anything to anyone. I’m going on almost 30 minutes waiting for my second pizza that was never entered and no update. The food may be good, but the service is...
Read moreCame here with a party of five, ordered a pizza amongst numerous other meals, and the price was pretty reasonable.
The atmosphere was laid back. We'd went at a time when the crowd was pretty minimal. Spacious seating, and clean. There are tons of televisions and a small but super nice bar that I could see being inviting for sports.
Staff was friendly and efficient. We had no complaints regarding service or quickness of food.
The pizza was absolutely fantastic. We just got basic two toppings, but it was crispy and full of taste. Definitely amongst the best in town. The other food, however, was very mediocre - specifically the Alfredo.
Location is a pain. Getting in and out on this side of town can be frustrating, and I often avoid the businesses cramped in this little area, but, seems to be Parr for the course with traffic patterns in The Vern.
I'll certainly visit more and order out more often, though I'll stick more closely to the pizza related options.
Nice addition to...
