Really solid food here. The prices are very fair. There is some flavor accuracy beyond the typical Mexican restaurant. So often you find good flavor in a Mexican restaurant, but you can tell it's assumed that everything will blend in together. Several of the items I tried at El Herradero could hold their own on the plate. The Spanish rice was really good, light and moist. Many places will bring rice that's bland and half burnt because they don't care. Nothing too surprising on the menu, it's just all done really well. I didn't have the lunch buffet, but it looked great. I'm guessing it's a real winner, judging by looks. Waitstaff was pretty unenthused. I think that's really just Mountain Home life and doesn't reflect on the restaurant itself too much. I still took a star off for that because it's hard to tell. The venue is huge. Would be great for hosting events.

First time ordering from them. I ordered through Door Dash. Hands down some of the best Mexican food in the area!!! I'm extremely picky when it comes to Mexican food as I learned how to cook Mexican food the traditional way from Oaxaca Mexico. That being said, I will definitely order again. Also, it was enough to feed myself and my fur baby and have leftovers tomorrow 😋 I added the Jalapeño and white cheese. Will definitely order again! Thank you!!!

Absolutely disgusting. Ground beef tastes like it has a hint of McCormick taco seasoning with a gallon of water added in. So greasy you can't even pick up the taco without it falling out. Texture is like sand. Got 3 tacos and couldn't even eat them. Got a kids beef burrito and it has chunks of carrot in it? Super weird. My kid hated it. Salsa was bottom of the barrel, watered down from the juices at the end of a batch. So much for Mexican food.

Dry cold food every time. Tostada to go looked like it had been dropped. Worst service in mountain home I've experienced. Afull min and a half to even be acknowledge by anyone let alone the 2 people standing behind the counter having a chat. Not one word was said to me after "did you have an order?" until I asked if they were sure they had the correct order as nobody had even asked my name. They said yes and literally made the "scoot, be gone" motion with their hands. This establishment has been a family favorite for dacades. Most family dinners were held there. No idea what happened but after steady decline in food, pricing, and the way they treat people WANTING to give them their hard earned money we will not be back. They also have a new 4% charge just for choosing their food. Dine in, carryout, online orders. Is this a new thing I'm not aware of? Tacky...

I give this place one star only because the food was decent. It wasn't the worst I've ever had but it wasn't the best either. The service was absolutely horrible. I saw the man clearing tables more than I saw my waitress, whom I only saw once. It took forever to get our orders, forever to get our food, and we ended up going to the front to pay even though I asked to get the check with our dessert. Plus, when we asked if our desserts we're ready we were told they were but they just haven't been brought out yet. We were the only ones in the restaurant so I don't understand why they hadn't been brought out. Then when we did go to pay they tried charging us $95 for an order that shouldn't have been no more than didn't. Needless to say I'm never going back and although I usually always leave a tip I did...
