Ike's Love & Sandwiches — Restaurant in Mountain View

Just had the weirdest experience at this location. Safe to say I won't be going back... the older lady that took my order was rude and completely unhelpful. Not to mention didn't change her glove after shoving her hands in the tip jar to give me change for my sandwich. The servers are supposed to take their gloves off when handling money and put new ones on before making food. She kept one glove on the whole time and only replaced one??? When I first tried to place my order She kept saying they didn't have the sandwich I wanted because she couldn't find it in the system. No help at all. I had to point out to her that the name may have changed. Then I asked her if the Dutch crunch bread was vegan. All she said was "I don't know." Didn't offer to ask anyone or anything. I literally had to Google it. I left feeling disgusted by the idea of her not changing her glove and couldn't bring myself to finish the sandwich. What a...

This has been me and my coworkers’ go to sandwich spot for the last year. We’ve tried several other sandwich places but none of them compare to the consistent quality that Ike’s puts out. This goes beyond just the sandwiches, the cleanliness of the store, the layout, and above all those things the customer service. The quality of the service they offer should be a benchmark for all other fast casual restaurants, it is a perfect blend of treating customers like valued guests and an urgency that ensures you’re leaving happy and staying happy after you’ve taken that first bite. I’d like to personally give a shout out to one of the workers who goes by Russ. A week after we started eating here, he had all of our names memorized and greets us with warm welcomes and friendly conversation anytime he’s working. Spent $100 on sandwiches which ended up being inedible. We didn't think to check the quality before leaving (because why would you need to). The evening staff seemed very disgruntled when we arrived which should have been a red flag but we didn't think anything of it. It was clear there was a riff between the only two employees that were working that night due to their visible irritation with each other.

The sandwiches didn't have any sauce or meat. The bread was rock hard and stale. Additionally, the ingredients didn't match the sandwich types we ordered.

Upper management gave us a refund the next week, but we won't return. Extremely dysfunctional location. Wouldn't trust...
