This Krispy Kreme store is not operating in compliance with the laws of the State of California. Specifically, California Civil Code Sections 1749.45-1749.6. aka California's "gift card law". They have made up some arbitrary policy that they will only cash out 2 gift cards per person per day. On Oct. 7th, 2024, for me they said they would do 5, but refused my remaining gift cards that each have a balance of less than $10.
The law does not permit business to limit the number of gift cards they will cash out. The law applys to every single gift card that has a balance of less than $10. Vicky Miranda refused to operate this store in compliance with the law. If you don't want to comply with California's gift card laws, either don't sell gift cards or don't operate stores in California. Continuing to sell gift cards and then violating the laws are a bait and switch.
Update 10-08-2024: I have submitted the complaint via https://www.krispykreme.com/about/contact-us as requested. I also submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau (#22393375). I intend to continue to document and file complaints for each day that I come in to cash-out my remaining gift cards and the store continues to violate the law over a hundred times each day as they refuse to cash out my remaining gift cards with balances under $10 due to their arbitrary small limit per person per day. I have asked that Krispy Kreme Chief Legal Officer Atiba Adams engage to review this conduct and direct the teams involved to comply with...
Read more2020 has been hard and it doesn't look like 2021 is getting easier. I wouldn't be surprised if Krispy Kreme is a thriving business right now. People need their comfort food in times like these. Being in pain from eating too much doughnuts is way better than being in pain from dealing with reality. Luckily my friend knows this about me too and he surprised me with a dozen doughnuts on a day I was feeling particularly down. I'm not much of a cryer. I only really cry when I'm watching Marley and Me, or when someone else is crying, or when I'm talking about something really emotional. There's probably a couple more things that make me cry, but I don't want to think about it right now because I might start crying. Besides those few times, I don't really cry. I'd say for the majority of my life I have not cried more than cried. So I was pretty surprised when I almost started crying when my friend gave me these doughnuts. Luckily, I was able to be a man and not cry when he handed them to me. I ended up crying the next day while I was eating them for breakfast. Thank you Krispy Kreme for helping me process my emotions by eating...
Read moreKRISPY KREME ON ST. Patrick's Day... wore green clothing and green / Gold eyeshadow. There was 2 of us. We asked for the "green" donut and we were given a hard/stale regular glazed donut. Asked for the green one and showed the donut ad and the cashier looked over to a heavy set guy... He said " Ya we ran out" I said, but why? It's only 3:30 pm. The big guy then said... " Oh well... we ran out, I mean ... it has been going on for since Friday. That is what it is" and put his hands in the air... Rude customer service. They had a million green donuts for sale but not for a promotional customer. What kind of service is that?
No longer my feelings... obviously customer service and food quality has gone down... sad that this happened. Please don't tell me to put my experience somewhere else. I wrote it here.
