New July 2024: There is a serious pest control problem here. I see roaches, spiders, bugs, and flies in my storage unit. I dont store food or anything else that would attract them. I regret moving my belongings here. At my previous storage company they had 4x4 concrete walls with zero space for neighboring or outside bugs to get into your unit. I didn't have this problem there. Looking back, the price was worth it. Public Storage units are cheaply built with wood and gaps in between units. I called the front office and we could barely understand each other. The summer months are extremely hot and unbearable inside the units and no AC. I can't wait to move!!!
Update: Twice I've been stuck in the gate. The app doesn't work or my gate code. There isn't an after-hours number displayed. I would never rent from Public storage again!
Update: I've only rented from here a few months and already received a notice about a drastic rental increase. With no light and wood flooring in the storage unit, I don't think it is worth the price.
Friendly staff and easy move-in. I love using the app to open the gate! I found an excellent move-in deal online.
The cons are: -No lights in the storage unit, and since the units are dark wood, it makes it harder to see inside your storage unit. -The storage units have wood panels and flooring. I worry about terminates and moisture. -I wanted to use my own lock. Read moreUpdate: I recommend renting from another company. I was at the gate around 8 pm tonight and there was an out of order sign on the gate. How are customers supposed to access their paid storage units? I will be submitting a complaint. There isn’t an after hours emergency contact number and customer support said it could take up to 72 hours for a response from the property management. No courtesy to let renters know anything about a broken gate. There is only one way in and one way out.
There is hardly anyone in the office or answers the phone. This property is poorly managed. The old couple needs to be replaced.
I recommend finding a climate controlled storage. These storage units are extremely hot during the summer. I went to my storage today and felt suffocated and difficult to breath due to the extreme heat. They really need to put warning signs up or at least put in a ventilation system. If you store electronics it will be ruined due to the heat and moisture. Buy DampRaid or something to absorb the moisture.The units are made of cheap plywood and there are gaps in between units which means if the surrounding storage units bring in bugs they will escape to your unit. Read moreI had a great experience meeting Jenny at Public Storage this past week. I was having a terrible week and moving was a bittersweet situation I had to endure. Thanks to Jenny's great hospitality and genuine good nature she made things so much better. I had no reliable transportation (except my bike) , and the truck I rented so getting from place to place was a challenge, especially living on the other side of the bay. I was also going through a difficult time in my life personally. Jenny from the start was so helpful and also offered me some water to drink after my several miles of bike riding to get to the storage. I had to make a phone call and get some personal info from my phone and she offered to charge it for me on her own equipment. Sometimes its the little things that count that society has lost completely whatever happened to great customer service. I have noticed so much horrible customer service these last few years at grocery stores, bike shops, restaurants, etc. I was really surprised and refreshed with Jenny's attitude and great genuine personality.
