Genoa pizza Italian restaurant — Restaurant in Mukwonago

Our group of 6 came in right at opening on Friday. The only worker was very upbeat and honest that he was the only one there. He requested that we come to the counter to order. This was not a problem as we all wanted separate checks. Even though the phone orders kept coming in, more customers came to eat in the restaurant, and carry out order customers came in to pick up their orders, he made our food, as ordered, in a fairly reasonable time frame, especially impressive as he was the only worker for most the time we were there. All six of us were very pleased with our meals. The salad quality was good. The 4 people that ordered the lunch meal deal were impressed with the quality of the food for the price. I personally loved my calzone. The crust was tender and delicious. Thank you for a nice quality lunch.

Unfortunately this location seems to have staffing issues. We were the only people dining in last night. While there were several waitstaff, they seemed inattentive and less than motivated standing around chatting and slowly cleaning. They were also wearing crop tops and a sweatshirt with the middle finger up which my kids got a kick out of. We were there for coming up to an hour when we walked up to the cashier to ask about the single pizza we ordered and were then told the order never went in so we could get 75% off. We left and went to another new pizza place in town for a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was really nice at Genoa and I hear the pizza is good so I hope they get better staff to make it. The food was standard fare American Italian. The tables, though very cool looking, were the least practical tables for dining as they are organically shaped tree cuttings. A group of us (13 total) we're the only people being served in the entire restaurant and it took them 40 minutes for anyone to get any food and an additional 20 to 30 minutes for the rest of the people to get their food. I don't really blame the poor service on the 4 16-year-olds as it didn't look like there were any managers available for guidance. Our table needed to be asked several times about what we had ordered even after some of the food had already come out. If this is a local chain restaurant, I question the service and food at the other restaurants...
