I love checking new restaurants in Murfreesboro, especially different ethnicity establishments. I'm familiar with Venezuelan foods. I'm glad to have another option in Murfreesboro.
The service was just okay, it could have definitely been better and more attentive. Felt as I had to chase the waitress down several times or ask another worker for assistance.
The atmosphere was okay. The establishment was pretty clean. Work was being done in one of the bathrooms and dining area. The music was pleasant not too loud either.
The food - the empanda (meat turnover/hand pie) was so delicious, probably one of the better tasting ones I've had in a while. The toston cups stuffed with meats were also very tasty - the cups were hot, crispy and fresh. The meat was also hot, soft and juicy. The dipping sauces were also very tasty and complimented the meats very well. I ordered a cachapa (sweet corn cake on griddle) with no cheese - it typically comes with a thick slice of salty Venezuelan white cheese sandwiched in the middle, it's absolutely savor and sweet National dish but I just wasn't in the mood for cheese, but would recommend you to have it the way it comes. It was very good! The bandeja paisa was very filling, the steak and egg were overcooked a bit, personal preference of medium steak and runny yolk. I would order this dish again. The agua panela (raw sugarcane lemonade) was fantastic and could have easily devoured 3 jars of it 😀
Hope you enjoy as...
Read moreAlright, you're all in trouble. How has this place been open for a year and a half and NO ONE TOLD ME?!? This place is so amazing!
There are multiple delicious salsas, but you don't need any of them, truly. The food is so absolutely delicious! The steak? Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fried mojarra was ridiculously PERFECT. The taquenos were good but that garlic sauce kicked them over the edge. The beans? Perfection. The coleslaw? Crisp, refreshing, and not too creamy. The boiled yuca? Awesome. Even the dang avocado on our Bandeja Paisa (basically a sampler platter for one that was enough for 2-3 people 🤣) was perfectly green.
Everything was wonderful. Everything was huge. We left with two overflowing takeaway boxes and 110% full bellies and completely content. The total bill with tip was about $120. That's $40 a person. And I seriously have at least 2 if not 3 meals in my takeaway container. And so does my friend! The third one didn't take any; she had errands to run.
So anyway, just freaking GO to Brasas Grill. It's by Cup Pop where the old university bookstore was for us...
Read moreAs soon as you walk in you can smell the delicious food they are cooking. All the staff was super friendly and super helpful. Explaining all the dishes for me especially as a non-Spanish-speaking. Also explaining to me what they recommend best for someone who is just by themselves and everything was delicious. I highly recommend going here in trying out their food. It’s so good everything smells so wonderful.
