I donāt normally like to leave bad reviews but I had a major problem with my order. Iāll preface by saying that I ordered specifically through Pizza Hut because I didnāt want to deal with DoorDash.
First time ordering from here, I placed my order online and was given 4:15 as my estimated delivery time. Around 4:30, my order still hadnāt arrived so I checked the order tracker on the Pizza Hut website; it said my order was still being made. Then I got a text telling me my order was delivered. It was not.
I called the store to find out what happened and was told that there were no delivery drivers available to take my order, so it had gone out with a DoorDash driver. Whoever answered the phone didnāt even ask for my name or order number, I was just straight up told to wait another 15-20 minutes to see if DoorDash showed up on the assumption that they knew which order was mine. I asked what if there was a way to track my order or who to contact if it didnāt show up. I was told there was no way to track it and if I wanted a refund or any other kind of solution, I would have to go on the DoorDash website and report my order as missing.
Again, we ordered Pizza Hut because we didnāt want to deal with DoorDash. Pizza Hut has always been super consistent and I never have issues or late deliveries with them. Itās now almost 5pm and my order still hasnāt arrived, and I have no idea where it is and have no contact information for the driver.
Pizza Hut doesnāt pay DoorDash drivers, DoorDash customers do. The Dasher who apparently took my order out for delivery has no obligation to me or Pizza Hut, so I guess the restaurant just assumes theyāll deliver it for free out of the kindness of their heart? I know if it were me, I would not do Pizza Hutās job for free. Iām realistically probably not getting my order.
TLDR: if there arenāt enough drivers, youāve GOT to let the customers know. Now my food is out there in limbo somewhere and the store isnāt willing to help me. He said he called 3 times but this being a business call I would expect a message to be left. It wasnāt, nor did I have a missed call. I then called on 7/10/2024 because I didnāt want to miss the window. He told me that they couldnāt accommodate my order because it was too large, and because I didnāt answer the phone when he (didnāt) call that he would only be able to make me 5 pizzas. Iām hosting an event for 78 clients plusās staff. 5 pizzas just wouldnāt do. I needed Pizza Hut because some of our clients can only eat the Alfredo and bread sticks. Iām really disappointed, because now I have to disappoint them and tell them they canāt get what they wanted...

The employee took my $20 bill and put it in the register, closed the drawer and walked away without giving me the change. He was walking around acting strange and had a weird look on his face. He looked at me and said my pizza was almost done and then he said he would give me my change in a minute. When he brought me my pizza he stood at the register with the same strange look on his face then opened the drawer and gave me my change. The next week I ordered online and paid online and when I picked up my pizza the employee (a different one) just about threw the pizza at me, gave me a dirty look and walked away. I donāt tip for pick up orders and I sure donāt submit to forcible tipping and Iām not going to eat food thatās cooked by people with an attitude. Itās Pizza Hutās responsibility to pay their employees, I pay for the food and take it home so no tip! Good bye Pizza Hut and try straightening out...
