WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER
The place looks very nice and the blond cashier is very welcoming to everybody, but we had a bad experience 10/18/2022, i went with my spouse and got each one a coffee, couple of croissants, a sour dough loaf of bread and 2 dozen cookies in different flavors, the coffee was ok, the rest of the food and treats were delicious, so much so that i decided to go get another dozen cookies, i wanted half peanut butter and half triple chocolate.
when i approached the cashier, she told me they were out of the PB flavored, I asked if they will make more , then this older thin lady with tanned skin and wears glasses started talking to me with attitude stating they cannot sell me a high amount of the just the PB cookies, i tried to clarify that i just wanted 6 of the PB cookies incase i was miss understood, and yet again she answered the same thing with a attitude tone, she said the most she can sell me is 2 cookies of PB flavor, during all this back and forth i never raised my voice and always spoke to her nicely.
When she kept answering like this , i wondered in my mind if a family group came to have some coffee and relax and by coincidence everybody wanted just a PB cookies, would she have answered to them that only 2 cookies can be sold to them?
All this time during the back and forth, the cashier was almost in the middle of us, the conversation got so intense that even the cashier looked uncomfortable when i looked at her, i want to point out that this lady treated white people differently than how she treated color skin people, i being latino felt very uncomfortable.
My spouse was watching all of this situation unfold and was furious, but i didn’t want to make a scene about it, after a few minutes, the same lady came up to us saying she can sell us 6 PB cookies, still talking to me with attitude tone, but when talking to my white spouse her tone changed, we were expecting at least an apology from this person, and I am guessing that someone in the staff besides the cashier noticed our intense conversation and spoke to her about it.
By how this person behaved, she looked like a supervisor or manager, making sure everything looked good and there was product stocked, but as such , she should have given an example of customer service and treat the customers with respect regardless of their skin color, we ended up buying the other dozen cookies, just to not make the situation worse, between the both of us we spent like 110 $, WE WILL DEFINITELY NOT GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN and they just lost a...
Read moreCoffee was ok nothing special. The girl taking orders was super sweet. I asked nicely for a box of ice (weird I know) but the girl taking orders grabbed a box and was about to do it until this older guy who was already in a terrible mood chimed in (I think it was a manager or owner). He was asking what the problem (there was no problem) and was just very rude overall. He proceeded to tell me he didn’t have a box and I pointed at a box that was literally right in front of him and he said no i’m not doing it that’ll cost me money (as if my friends and I didn’t just spend upwards of $15). I understand it was a weird request but it could’ve been solved by a simple no sorry we won’t do that. But, instead he started with a terrible mood and was so rude. Won’t be back definitely don’t recommend, spend your money elsewhere, where they’ll actually be thankful for your money.
Edit since google won’t let me reply: Thanks for the so called “apology” I guess. I get it, it was a weird request, and I know it’s not your responsibility (nowhere did I state that I thought it was YOUR responsibility) but it was the attitude in which I received that was so appalling. A simple “no sorry” would’ve been just fine and neither of us would be here! I know customer service is hard, I’ve worked in it for the past 6 years, but watching a grown man escalate a situation to that extent was shocking (especially with other customers in the store !!?). Would it had been different if I asked for a cup since I got a drink? Or would that have also “wasted” your money. I know 100% for a fact that a box or cup doesn’t cost $5 (what I spent on my drink) :) I hope that worker feels better and whatever personal issues he has get resolved, because he seems like the common denominator to most of the low...
Read more1000% fabulous!!! This was my first experience at Simply Pure Sweets, and we stopped here after reading online that they have a French-educated baker and authentic recipe French croissants. I've lived in France, so I wanted to test that, mostly because I adore French pastries and it's almost impossible to find anything close to authentic in the states. I purchased a rather large variety to sample (I love sweets in general, haha!) and everything was SO GOOD, from that first bite of molasses cookie to the best pain au chocolat I've tasted outside of France. I also got a blueberry muffin (divine, and packed with berries!) and the roast beef grilled cheese sandwich (on sourdough...unique and so delicious!) I absolutely will be going back. In addition to the fantastic food, I went in with my service dog (I'm disabled and in a wheelchair) and it was clear the staff understood how to treat someone with a working dog. The entire experience was amazing, so like I said, I will definitely...
