I have been hearing nothing but glowing reviews, and to be honest, I am anything but impressed. We were seated right away (2 adults, 2 kids). I thought something was up when just getting a drink order in took way longer than it should have.
I ordered a 6 piece chicken basket with tots, an extra side of tots, and an order of the fried avocado bites. My cousin ordered a chicken sandwich, no cheese, and fries. One kid ordered mac and cheese with fries, and the other a chicken strip kids' meal.
It went downhill from here. Not only did the server disappeared for I don't know how long, but the rare occasion she would blow by she would tell us she was checking on our food. Sadly, I am pretty sure that was not happening.
While we waited, quite patiently, several tables that were seated after us not only got their food but paid their bills, left, and the tables were filled with new patrons. Who also got their food before us.
Now, according to our server, who once I asked to speak to a manager, stated the order got lost. She said she would have a manager come to the table, and the manager was a no-show either. Eventually, the server brought the manager over. She was quite apologetic, promised to comp our meals, and stated that our food had been given to the wrong people. So, yea, there's that.
Eventually, they brought our food. There was no extra order of tots, cheese on the chicken sandwich, and we had to ask for drink refills.
Listen, I get that the place was a little busy, and I certainly understand things going awry at times. To say that no one appeared to know what was going on at any particular point in time would be rather generous. Different stories, servers that clearly need training, or a less busy shift, and the ising on the cake? The one girl, I have no idea what her function is, who kept yelling into her headset, grumpily deriding coworkers, and stuck with a permanent dour expression.
I will not lie to you. The chicken strips and the tater tots were pretty damned good. Even the fried avocado bites were pretty decent. I am hard-pressed to say it was even close enough to overcome what can only be described as one of the most miserable dining experiences I have had in a very long time.
Will I go back? Despite this location being literally 5 minutes from my house, probably not. I may go to one of your other locations to see if I have a better experience. I just don't know for sure.
UPDATE: Within a few hours, at most, of posting this review, which also posted to the location via an online comment card, their District Manager, contacted me via email. I received a very nice apology, was told my comments would be used for training, and that I would be sent some gift certificates as a way to entice me to give it another try. I turned down the gist certificates, as I do not give comments or reviews with the thought of getting anything for it. I also stated that, due to the quick response and nice email, I would give them another try. I will update this review at that time.
Update #2: I should have updated this a while back, but I rarely look back at my old reviews. My bad on this one. Toot's has become a regular place to eat for me. Since the initial experience, all of my servers have been fantastic, no matter if I am at a table, sitting in the bar area, or sitting at the bar. The food is still wonderful, and as of late, I have getting the sweet potato fries/wedges (which are dang good). 😋
Anyway, I have, rightfully, updated my ratings from 1 to 4 stars. Thanks Toot's staff for...
Read moreLast Sunday I called up the 96 location and asked if they were showing a specific football game amd after a brief hold we were told that they were showing it. Once we got there the first thing I asked for was for one of the tvs to be changed so my son and I could watch it. The server insisted it wouldn't be a problem and went ahead and took my families drink orders. After a little bit she brings our drinks back and about the same time someone comes and changes the channel. Unfortunately they were unable to find the game. The girl did try for a few minutes but wasn't able to find it... I understand if it's a blackout game due to location or only being available on Sunday ticket, however my issue ones from being lied to on the phone about it.. I was pissed about it. Because at this point we've all already put in orders and everything, so it wasn't like we could just easily leave. I would have gone elsewhere and that would have been that. After this hiccup nothing was really said, I ended up declining my specific order and the server didn't really see an issue with it... after sitting and stewing it over for a bit the more aggravated I became and eventually asked for the manager to explain I didn't appreciate being lied to over the phone about the game originally.. Once the manager came over to our table and I started to explain everything she had no idea about the situation. At that exact same time the manager is at out table our dinner arrived. As I'm talking with her my wife started to eat her meal (chicken on a stick) they had given her half cooked meat, the entire inside of the chicken was pink..
I was furious. I kept my composer but I was heated nonetheless. The manager was quick to respond to her issue which completely should have never happened. Offering to get my wife a new meal..
Ultimately the manager comped a portion of our meal and gave us some vouchers but tbh I don't feel like it was enough. I'm grateful for it. Don't get that confused.. but being lied to, to get my family there, having to wait to verify the game. Obligating us to our order before hand, and getting served raw chicken.. that's ridiculous. My wife almost gave my 19mo the first bite of her chicken... that's what really made me decide to make this post... I hope the GM sees this because things like this should never happen. Not with chicken and not something as so stupid as checking to verify if the right game is being shown.. all of it could have been avoided if we were told the truth upfront amd we would have went to Sam's or elsewhere.
I love toots but I'll only go to broad street...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Toot's on Franklin Road in Murfreesboro, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home.
One of the highlights of our visit was the exceptional service provided by our waitress. She was incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely wanted to ensure we had a great dining experience. What stood out the most was her eagerness to accommodate my wife, who has celiac disease. Navigating a menu with dietary restrictions can often be challenging, but our waitress went above and beyond to make it as easy and stress-free as possible.
She took the time to thoroughly check with the kitchen about the ingredients and preparation methods of various dishes, ensuring that my wife's meal was safe for her to eat. Her knowledge and attentiveness were truly impressive, and it was evident that she genuinely cared about providing the best possible service. This level of care and attention to detail made us feel valued and appreciated as customers.
The food at Toot's was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The menu offered a great variety of options, and everything we ordered was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My wife was thrilled with her gluten-free meal, which was not only safe for her to eat but also incredibly tasty.
In addition to the fantastic service and delicious food, the ambiance of Toot's was lively and welcoming. The decor added a fun touch to the dining experience, and the overall vibe was perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal.
I highly recommend Toot's on Franklin Road to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Murfreesboro. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a warm, inviting atmosphere makes it a top-notch choice.
