Great customer service, but bbq is tasteless and dry. Wheres the seasoning, no smoke flavor. BBQ is supposed to be flavorful and full of spices. It taste like the other tasteless bbq place on Woodward. This is not southern bbq. When I smoke meat I spend 10-14 hours smoking my pork, 4-6 hours on my ribs. This meat is definitely not smoked with that care. Hope the best for the business.... to respond to owner i understand what your saying about the seasoning, but when people have problems with acidity in BBQ that's understandable. You can still step up to the plate with Salt, White Pepper and Garlic, all three very low in acid and white pepper won't char as quick as black pepper. My girlfriend and I are here over the weekend. Honestly, we were headed to Papa Wok until we decided to try somewhere new. It was about 2:30 PM and business looked dead. I even wondered if Lawler's was open - they were. We each got the BBQ pork plate ($6 special) and I got an additional BBQ sandwich. Total was about $21. The service was great, very fast, and the prices weren't bad. The food was delicious - much better than Rick's which has honestly gone downhill over the years and is usually served lukewarm. Worst food I have ever had. The B-B-Q was cold, my wife’s smoked turkey looked like it came out of a blender. Slaw was tasteless. Beans ok. All food items must be delivered in plastic bags and put in steam table pans. Sauces came in little plastic bags. Young person that took my order looked like he would rather be somewhere else.
