WEBSITE PRICES ARE INACCURATE.
Tonight we go to their website, download their menu and order via phone call. We ordered 2 12oz steaks, with a side of Mac and cheese for our son. Based off the prices, we expected our subtotal to be around 38.97. With taxes we expected perhaps 44ish. My husband was not given a total via the phone when he made the order.
He gets to Runts and we are charged 54.03! I told him get back in there and figure out why we were charged 15 dollars more than we expected.
He said the girl told him the online menu needed to be "updated" and the owners are too lazy or tech un savvy to fix it. The new prices are now 23 dollars a steak rather than 17.99, SIX dollars difference. It would be one thing if it were one or two dollars but SIX.
So that makes it the customer's fault? That is absolutely ridiculous. These people do not honor their prices and don't warn you ahead of time that they are incorrect. Now tell me how that's right.
To top it off, the steaks were bland, the potato salad had 0 flavor and the toast was soggy... if I want to pay that much for a steak I'll go to saltgrass for a perfect ribeye.
I'll never recommend their blah food or their lowdown ways to anyone.
Edit : we were refunded. At least they did something right. You should honor the prices you list at the time of purchase, not upcharge someone secretly and hope they don't notice. Unsure if the cashier just didn't know how or want to do that, blaming and calling the owners old and dumb or if the owners just didn't care the prices online were wrong and told the cashiers to upcharge. Guess we'll never know. The important thing is to always ask your total when ordering via phone and speak up when overcharged at checkout... learned a lesson the hard way. Just glad we were refunded for the bland food. I'll give a couple more...
Read moreThis place is awful. They are very rude to the elderly. When we were seated the waitress was rude to us. We over looked it. After order was placed she came back out and told my son and husband one of them had to change their order due to not having any more ribs. So my son did. But then when our orders came out the ribs were a joke. No meat hardly on them and there was one rib on my husband's plate that was just a bone. The waitress was rude and very unprofessional when I asked to speak to a manager because of her attitude and that I was not paying for the food we never touched it that I wanted to pay for our drinks and leave she said I am calling the cops. The Manager on duty she was very rude and did not want to let me talk told me I cussed at the waitress which I did not and walked off and wouldn't listen. To the owner of this business I hope you have a meeting with your staff on how to treat customers. The way they talked to the Elderly couple that had the outside door open not the one going into the building because it was hot and over a 100 degrees they told them to stop holding the door open and keep it closed this couple had already been patiently waiting over an hour to be seated. This is not how you run a business. The waitress yelled at us in front of my kids and everybody in there. Not cool. To the owner I really think you need to teach your employees how to be respectful and how to treat your customers. I wish this had a negative star that I could put for the service my family received. They just lost a $200...
Read moreThis is good BBQ. The restaurant is a typical well-worn Oklahoma BBQ shack. Rustic décor: barn tin, stuffed animals, walls of rough-cut lumber and a hint of hickory smoke in the air. My wife had the burnt end sandwich with potato salad. This was smokey, tangy beef burnt ends, sandwiched between two slices of thick buttered Texas toast. Absolutely recommended. The sides here are excellent. I had jalapeno black eyed peas with my “Salty Dog.” The Salty Dog is an unusual version of a Ruben: two meaty, spicey hot links, sliced, with kraut, Swiss cheese, and mustard between two slices of rye. A great combination of flavors, but challenging to eat. The casings on the links were a little tough; making a clean bite on the sandwich was impossible. It turned into a tasty knife and fork sandwich. The service is prompt, attentive, small town friendly. An opportunity for improvement: the parking area in the back. Unfortunately, today, the only spot available was by the dumpster and the recycle grease bin. It smelled back there, like dirty diapers, spoiled milk, and rancid grease. The area looked as bad as it smelled. The leaking or overflowing fermented juices had drained onto the parking lot. A challenge to navigate when first stepping out of your vehicle. After that smell, man do I really want to eat here? Do not Park back there. A little attention to clean this area, would greatly improve a customer’s first impression.
It still rates in my opinion, as the best BBQ...
