Since moving here me and my husband have been wanting to try this place out and we finally did. It’s such a cute place but that was the only thing that really impressed us. The prices are expensive in my opinion and nothing really “stood out” to us except like three items on the menu. Not their fault. I ordered the quesadilla crepe which was decent but it so many black beans than anything else and was way too much. It came with a side salad which was good but the balsamic dressing was way too sour tasting. My husband’s burger was good but it came with roasted potatoes that weren’t really roasted and were more on the soggy side… he didn’t eat them. Drinks were good. Server was good except we wanted to pay right away and was ready because we had to leave and instead of taking our card and bill to do that she told us she would be right back and that was fine we figured she might have gotten busy but then we had to wait another 15 mins. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the 3% “admin fee” they threw into the bill. When I asked the server what it was for she said it was for using credit cards. So basically they are having customers fork up the bill for them using their card system. How is that fair at all? I grew up in the restaurant business most of my life and my husband did as well so I’m aware of the fees. This is not good business practice. The owners should either fork up the bill themselves with what they make from their restaurant or do cash only. It’s not right to have customers pay for a fee that should be the restaurant’s responsibility. That’s pretty tacky if you ask me. I think this place could use a little improvement and highly reconsider customers paying for a “credit card fee”. I have never been to a restaurant that did that to their customers and I hope they see this and really think about it. We probably won’t go back anytime soon...
Read moreWe were searching for a nice place to have a rehearsal dinner & a co-worker recommended The Cottage. Boy am I glad that she did! We went to try the food & talk with the owners on pricing for something like that. She sat with me on the phone & went over many things. So we took the 3 hour drive to try the food & drinks & they did not disappoint!
We had the Cosmoplitan, Smoked Old Fashioned & the Smoky Rita. The Cosmo… delish & my boys loved the old fashioned!
Our appetizers were the stuffed mushrooms, caprese bites & the spinach artichoke dip. All were fantastic but that spinach artichoke dip… outta this world delish!
Our meals were the tenderloin, smothered chicken, pork chop & steakhouse sandwich. The steakhouse sandwich blew our minds!! So delicious. Huge chicken breast portion for the smothered chicken. Pork chop was a tad dry, but pork is tough to cook without being dry. Filet was cooked perfectly.
Ella was our server & had the best suggestions & made our visit so wonderful!! We loved the jazz music playing softly in the background. It was not too loud that we couldn’t have a conversation between the four of us but loud enough to enjoy in the atmosphere! We highly recommend...
Read moreThis cozy, unassuming restaurant proves that simplicity done right is hard to beat. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a regular the moment you walk in—welcoming, warm, and without any pretense.
The meal was straightforward but executed with care. The steak was grilled to perfection—no fancy frills, just pure, savory flavor, enhanced by a rich, homemade butter that brought everything together. The mashed potatoes were as classic as they come—light, airy, and clearly made fresh, just like grandma would’ve done. The grilled asparagus was simple, seasoned just enough to complement the plate without stealing the spotlight.
And then there’s the cocktail sauce—bright, bold, and homemade. No gimmicks, just the kind of flavor that reminds you how good the basics can be when they’re made with heart.
This isn’t flashy dining—it’s honest food, done right. A perfect reminder that sometimes the simplest meals leave the...
