Stone House Kitchen — Restaurant in Nacogdoches

Stone House not prepared for Parents Weekend AND Arts Festival on the square. Arrived at 10:30 am and only 3 associates trying to manage the restaurant. Two more associates arrived at 11 am . We Ordered 3 coffee drinks, a bkfst sand & a pre made frittata. Cleaned our own table, sat and waited over an hour. Watched the front counter associate continually play with her hair while making coffee drinks, clearing tables and serving food — health concern. What really pushed it over the edge was that two parties who arrived/ordered after us received their food before us. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, I WAS offered a refund, which I accepted and was immediately served our food. Food Quality was likely influenced by the fact they were over whelmed ; drinks were all overly sweet, bkfst sand came on bread versus croissant as ordered & the frittata was very salty. Stone House Kitchen has a beautiful setup and a great atmosphere but the food and service were lacking. Upon entering, their displayed menu boards were very empty. There was only one paper menu with water stains sat on the counter. I ordered a Turkey bacon ranch sandwhich on sourdough without ranch. The first time it came out it was covered with ranch and on a croissant. They gladly took it back and re-made it. When it came out again, it was on sourdough without ranch but missing the cheese. I didn’t send it back again and ate it. It was good and fresh, just lacking items. The other meal was the Stone House Melt and it came out correctly. One thing to note is that the patties are thick and taste great but only half the size of the bread they’re served on.

We recently hired Stone House Kitchen to cater the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding. John and his crew were fantastic. For starters, we live in Washington State so communicating with a time difference could have been difficult, but John was very responsive and we were able to communicate easily all that we wanted and needed. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We really appreciate all of their hard work and effort to make our event wonderful and easy.

They also catered the wedding the very next day and again the food was delicious and the decorating and presentation was top notch. Thank you John and your friendly hardworking crew for a job well done. Hope to visit your restaurant next time we make it...
