Overall I gave this a low rating but thankfully the second day server for lunch redeemed them a little, otherwise service would have been 1 star. I think the night manager needs to look a little more carefully at his staff. I called a head about 2 weeks to make 2 lane reservations for my team building offsite from 8-10pm. The person I spoke with I believe was Shaun and he was friendly and helpful as Tock was not allowing me to make the reservation.
However once we arrived onsite it went downhill from there. We were seated at a table at 7:34 the server we had was asked by us if we should move to the bowling alley seating to order since we had an 8pm reservation. She said we were fine and could move when we were finished. I did ask her to inform them we were here since we had the reservation. We were then further delayed by 2 orders not arriving on schedule, she blamed the kitchen.
Once we were finished we were waiting for the check when I noticed that all the lanes were full. I quickly went to inquire and was told since we "weren't here for our reservation at 8:15" they gave it away. I proceeded to advise we were here and why hadn't they been informed. They said the group bowling was almost done so we could continue to wait. Which we did but no drinks or food because that server wanted to close her ticket.
Finally moved down to the lanes, lane server agreed to give us a little extra time to make up for the error. What I didn't find out until we were running out of time is that they didn't actually have us down for a 2 hr slot. What she told us at a few minutes before 10 was that they couldn't extend further because the lanes closed at 10. I wasn't upset at the information it was that nothing was conveyed ahead. The entire evening we were treated as though we were a bother to the staff. If your business is drinks, bowling and food then you should be exceptional at those things. Instead the staff was begrudging, slow, forgetful and otherwise indifferent. I spent nearly $600 that night in food, drinks and bowling and had the service been better it would have been more. The team still enjoyed themselves but what a disappointment in general. In the end, she offered to take of $25 to remedy, it was pretty insignificant but after I took my frustration out on her and apologized I accepted the meager offer.
As a side note of positivity: Sunday server was soo sweet, polite, helpful and wonderful, she was a true pleasure to work with after the prior night disaster. Also LOTS OF GLUTEN FREE choices, huge plus on...
Read moreWalked in around 4:30pm. Asked about the happy hour menu as I had seen on there website. Was told there is NO happy hour. Well you website says so.:( Order a beer and sat by the fireplace, then had to go up to the bar to ask for more drinks each time. Bar was empty why are all these servers so busy? No one coming to me and asking if I needed anything. My gf joined soon later from our room. We then decided we might as well eat there since the food online looked good and we were comfy by the fireplace. Had to then ask if they had a menu and then ask can we have one by getting up and walking to bar to find the nearest server. We personally walked up each time to order some drinks and food. We had zero service. I have pics and videos of these co workers hanging out in booths, conversing, laughing and pretty much chilling on the job. My orignal server was even eatting as she walked out.! I get it...sometimes it gets slow. But why am I having to disturb your conversation for a beverage or food! Was very sad to experience this after such an amazing two nights at Meritage Resort and Spa. I did notice that after a hotel manager from a different department came in everyone started to get up and pretend to work. Just sad. I have videos and pics of all this going on around us as we are waiting for some service. Called front desk to talk to a manager, was told one would call me. Still waiting before we check out tomorrow. This was a birthday celebration for myself from my older sister. Very sad way to end...
Read moreWell… it’s not often that I have to provide a less than stellar review but the time has come. I’ll start by saying that Crush Lounge is a very nice, clean place when you compare it to your average bar and bowling alley. The staff were very nice and attentive. But… when I placed my reservation it showed a 1.5 hr booking for bowling but when I arrived we were told it was only 1 hr. Incorrect information on a website is the problem of the business and not of the consumer. And, unless you seek out their pricing online, you’ll be just as surprised as I was to find out that your payment through Tock was not the full price of the bowling but just a deposit. We paid $23 but the actual price for an hour bowling was $75 which is honestly outrageous. There were only 3 of us. So overall it was disappointing in how the reservation was done. I suspect we will not return simply because of the poor...
