Okay so we went here for wing special day 99cent wings, and we thought we found a place to make a weekly or monthly tradition for our family. the first 2-3 times we went it was perfect but this 4th time we went they added all these rules that really ruined the experience and made us not want to return.
The rules: Wing special dine-in only. (No problem) You can’t order the wing special without ordering a drink per PERSON at the table ordering the wings deal (problematic because we had a 2 and a 5year old and we usually share our adult drink with our kids because we primarily want them to have water but we just splash it with a little sugar drink of what we ordered. Because of all the confusion they said oh this time we will tolerate if you just the two adults order drinks. But in the future each kid has to have their own drinks for us to order the wing special for them (even if they are sharing a batch). This was also was sucky because before on other visits dad would only get water, not to be cheap but because dad was trying to honor his workout meal plan and not waste calories on pop or sugary drinks. His goal was to just have protein by just having water and chicken. But they wouldn’t allow him to just have his water so in a way he was forced to have pop which sucked because he had to go off his regimen. yes we asked for something with no caffeine and sugar free they didn’t have anything so he ordered Coke). You you can only order wings in increments of 6 (before it was a minimum of 6, but u could get 8, 9, 10. This sucked for us because 8 was mom and dad magic number to feel full and content each. Problem dad liked spicy and mom can’t eat spicy. So we would have had to order another full 6 EACH because our flavors were different. That’s 12 more pieces when we only wanted 4 more- 2n2 each. ) You can only have one flavor per batch of 6 (before it was say we wanted 8, that 8 could be split 2 flavors-4n4. We couldn’t do that now which sucked because of what happened in rule 3. But also because we had small children, our 2 n 5 year old was going to split a batch of 6. One wanted garlic parm and the other wanted bbq. We were told for their little size we would have to pick one flavor or order 12 to be able to do two flavors. Which is ridiculous for a 2 n 5 year old to have 6 pieces of chicken EACH!!! We ended up getting the one batch (plain) and that caused a major melt down and tears at the table because neither one of them wanted no plain dry wings.) (THE WORST RULE OF ALL) NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE LEFTOVERS HOME. You had to eat it all there, and what you didn’t eat must be left on the table to be discarded BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR WHAT THEY ARE FORCING YOU TO TRASH. Which was ridiculous!!! I mean completely outrageous you force on us to have to order high quantities and then if we don’t finish, it has to be trashed BUT you still have to pay for it??????!!!! every parent with small kids know they eat like birds they pick over it at the table and then get home saying they are hungry. we knew they would do that and wanted to take their food but was told in the future we cannot but they will let us that one time. mom and dad ended up ordering less than what we wanted and left hungry.
like I get them trying to prevent people from ordering food, boxing it up and leaving treating it like “carry out” but if we just ate and you see us not finishing how dare you say the food must stay but we still must pay.
Overall This is not a special to enjoy if you planned to share amounts and everyone wanted different sauces and quantities. It’s not suitable for children that eat small portions. You either order less than you want and leave hungry or more than you can eat at the table and then have to trash your food but still pay them. The chicken was good as heck still, but the wing special day is a nightmare. They said these rules were newly implemented by the owners and that the owners watch them on cameras to ensure the new policy is...
Read more1 Star for location & atmosphere. 1 Star for the food, which is typically decent.
We came to lunch on Sunday, 3/4. We came in at 1pm, and placed our order at 1:15. We had a male server and it was past 2pm and we were still waiting for our food. Other nearby diners with another server came in after us, ate and left. Server didn't check on us once and offer an explanation, even though we were waiting nearly an hour and had 3 kids in our party. If it were not for a take-charge waitress named Cassandra assisting with our order, we'd have gone hungry.
While our entire meal was gratis (the ONLY solution for a wait this long!), this service is unacceptable, especially for a party with 3 children. My sister even had to get up to get her own box for leftovers. She asked our waiter for it and though it was steps away, he headed off in the opposite direction and didn't come back. She went to get her own box and a waitress servicing other tables was kind enough to assist.
This isn't an isolated incident. I live nearby and come to this place quite often, and I've only received good service once or twice.
In fact, on 3/4, my husband was at the bar at the same time I was in the dining room, meeting with colleagues, and having a horrible experience of his own! It took 45 minutes for a waitress to come to his table and take their drink order, even though they asked the bartender to send someone over after 15 minutes of waiting. When she brought the drinks a few minutes later, she spilled all over their notes and walked away. They thought she was bringing a towel to clean up, but nope! She didn't come back and they had to grab a towel from behind the bar counter and clean up the mess she made.
I won't be spending my money here for consistently awful service. Too bad bc the food is decent, it's close to our son's hockey rink and a central location, but this was literally the worst service I...
Read moreWe went on a Wednesday roughly 1p. Draft picks was not busy however it was clean. Our server MJ was fantastic; very attentive and helpful with our concerns. We ordered the daily food special which was chicken tenders for $0.60 per with a minimum of 6. The breading on the tenders were great with just the right amount of thickness with an overall good beer battered flavor. A half of a tender was underdone so I ate around it since none of the others seemed to be undercooked. Our four year old had the fried mac and cheese bites with fries which were pretty good. My wife and I ordered beer to go with lunch; me a flight of 4 and her a draft beer. All beers were warm which destroyed the ability to actually taste test beers causing my flight to be a total waste. My wife's beer was warm as well. We had brought our issues up with are server who then brought it up to management. Management spoke through the server saying "I'm sorry". I was a little disappointed when I received the check noting only 6 tenders being removed from the bill. I truly wasn't expecting to be taken care of for our poor experience based on the lackluster apology from management. I feel the manager should have stopped by the table to check in with our concerns.
So to explain my 3 stars...
Service was great. Management stunk. Food was ok. Place was clean. According to my wife; the women's restroom was poorly lit.
Not really desiring to go back. Also not recommending this restaurant. Perhaps we will give it some time before thinking about returning, but since this was our first visit we definitely we...
