Hizemans — Restaurant in Naperville

I went to Hizemans this afternoon to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the server was amazing, but she was probably the only really good thing about the experience. The food had good flavor, but was a really small portion size for the price. I got the Philly sandwich. The biggest issue i had was my girlfriend and I both ordered the Space Jam drink, some of our friends were there before us and already had the drink so we tried their drink before ordering ours. We thought it was good so we ordered it as well. When we got our drinks, they tasted like Tequila and nothing like the drink our friends had. We told the server about it fairly quickly, she offered to remake it for us, but we declined because we didnt want it to come out the same way, she offered to get us something new so we both ordered Vodka + Redbull. We did not drink the 2 Space Jam drinks, and they just sat on the table for the remainder of our visit, when we got the check, the drinks were still on the check. We thought maybe she had forgotten to take them off, but we asked her and she said she did try to get them taken off but the manager wouldnt let her just because "we didn't like the drink" but again the drink was not a vodka drink or made incorrectly. My girlfriend and I both figured there was no point in talking to the manager if they were going to blame us for the drink, so we just paid for it and left, definitely left a bad taste in our mouth both from the drink and the way the situation was handled. If you go I would definitely recommend ordering a drink you know and not one of their specialty drinks because if they make it wrong they wont take it off your tab, and again portion sizes are just too small in my opinion for the...

Maybe it was the lunch crew. Maybe it was the mouse. It’s hard to say. Our experience last visit was decent enough to try again but even then I was a little surprised at the poor experience the bartender provided after I asked for a manhattan. Apparently they aren’t a drinker, which is fine, but someone pouring my drink should have a pallet for the job.

This last trip (7/12/24) was perhaps the last time we go.

1. we asked the bartender (same person) about a drink. We were curious about what razzmatazz was and what it tasted like. Wanted to make sure the drink wasn’t too sweet. The bartender stated, I’m the wrong person to ask, I don’t drink alcohol, only light beer (again good for them, but odd guest experience)
2. I was debating my options and was curious about the size of the salad, to which the bartender/server said, “it’s about the size of the salad”. Very helpful. Got it anyway because I wasn’t interested in asking other questions about the menu.
3. everyone was curiously absent as we were finishing our meal. We found out why, they were busy chasing a mouse out of the restaurant.

Worth mentioning is the salads were literally soaked in dressing, I mean just swimming. I like to hide the flavor of healthy food with fattening food as much as the next guy, but this was ridiculous.

When we were ready to leave we had to walk from our booth to the bar and get their attention because there was no one in the front of the house. They were all chasing the mouse.

Only reason I’ll return is if my favorite football team isn’t on TV. But I’ll stick to beer because surely they can’t...

They call themselves a sports bar, but they decided to pull all the tables up in the middle of the 3rd quarter of the NFC Divisional Playoff game. After they pulled the tables a bunch of people stood in front of our table so we couldn't see the TV's which are all on one wall. We eventually had to stand with the rest of the bar to watch the game while the DJ started playing loud club music while everyone at the bar was still watching and rooting for the game. I eventually spoke with the manager Justin and asked if we could at least turn the sound on and he told me it was their policy not to turn sound on after DJ starts. He was extremely rude and walked away from me while I was in the middle of a conversation with him. I then spoke with Georgia (GM) who at least listened to me and agreed that it was a mistake not to put the sound on, but still decided not to act on it as to not undermine her manager. Long story short it was an awful experience visiting Hizemans and would advise that you visit another sports bar that actually appreciates their customers and sports.

P.S. - The food looked delicious in the pictures online, but was sub par even for bar...
