This city seems quit cozy. My family and I visited with the intention of going to the museum, yet to our surprise it was closed on a Sunday (my husband should have looked at the hours when he looked up the directions). This Sunday was a beautiful sunny day, with clear skies and temperature in the mid 70's. It was also September 11, so there was memorial going on by the River-walk, a sidewalk landmark where you can actually walk alongside the river on a sidewalk. The people that served us at the Italian restaurant we went to was courteous and recommend we leave our car in the parking lot of the restaurant and go walking the .25 mile to the downtown area. The city was pretty clean, the traffic was light and the street lights were favorable to safety, along the cross walks there was audio feedback when you pressed the button alongside the crosswalk to give notice that you wanted to cross. The city even has it's own free Wi-Fi apparently, we discovered that as I was leaving and decided to rate this visit on google. The have modern looks as well as historic looking buildings, and the shopping is what you'd find in most upscale suburban neighborhoods. We spent the most time at Anderson book store and would love to go back and discover other things about this city, and of course see the children's museum we...
Read moreNaperville is horrible for parking. As a person who works at a restaurant in Downtown Naperville it is virtually impossible to find a parking spot and to make it to work on time. Also I do leave early, I always leave 20 mins early to find a parking spot but it always takes forever. People are also hostile when trying to find parking. Especially on the weekend. Just last week these two girls try to steal a spot from mewhen I was finding parking to go to my job. Also on top of this, there are three little piggy’s👮♂️ that walk around downtown Naperville ticketing any car parked in improper spots. Downtown Naperville parking is horrible for the workers. Both I and my workers has express greatly that working in downtown Naperville can be horrible simply because of the parking. Also, Downtown Naperville does have an employee parking lot but always get taken up by non workers. If you’re looking to work in downtown is it nice but beware of the parking. You can only park in parking lots, never on the side of the road or you will be ticketed. Please Naperville, fix this and make it easier for...
Read moreThough like any municipality, that will always be imperfect, thanks to hard-working business owners, downtown Naperville is still an exceptional place to visit and to walk around and to shop.
I’m still blown away that under the previous administration during the rapidly declining ages of 2020 through 2024, that the city of Naperville allowed all of those wild criminal teenagers and adults to take over and roam around and pillage downtown Naperville in the Joe Biden, stand down, gangster mob fashion. Unbelievable.
I hope under this present Federal administration —where the law is being upheld —that the City of Naperville learns a lesson from 85 million Americans … to actually have a spine …and allow our police to serve and protect its citizens and serve our interests to not allow criminals to terrorize, pillage, mock, and intimidate your city . . . especially at the amount of taxes we have to pay.
The freedom-loving, hard-working, business owners, who actually pay the bills, get the ultimate credit for downtown...
