I am a Local Chef & I worked with at Amore for 5 years as a Sous Chef. Amore is a Fine Italian establishment. I will do my best to give an Unbiased Review, the facts only! Most all the food offered at Amore is 100% crafted from Scratch, Nothing is bought, except for some of the Specialty Desserts (Common Practice Among Restaurants) the Tiramisu dessert is Hand Made by the Chef & is the absolute best Tiramisu will find in Naples, I personally vouch for this fact! The Food is very well made, Pasta is Fresh not Dry. Some suggestions, Doversole served tableside, Veal Chop, Veal Parmesan, Seabass Cartrofi, all the Pasta is great & everything is made to order, it's all made the moment after your order is taken. The Front Of House Staff are Professional Servers, they provide excellent Service & are knowledgeable about Wines & drinks offered. The restaurant is handsomely decorated, it is a nice comfortable place to have a date or special dinner. They have a Private Banquet Room you can request for private dinner parties, they offer wine dinners with coursed out menu's to accompany the wines offered. This is one of only two restaurants I know of in naples that does whole fish tableside like is used to be done in fine dining establishments years ago. Amore Ristorante is definitely a nice place to try out & bring your friends. The dress attire is Classy Casual to Fancy, you won't feel out of place in a nice dinner suit or a pretty black dress! I don't suggest Jeans or Shorts. But the restaurant doesn't have a dress code keep that in mind. All & all a great Fine Italian Restaurant in Naples with unique offerings. In season they book up fast, reservations are preferred! I do not work here anymore & am now Executive Chef of another local restaurant. This has been an Unbiased Unsolicited Truthfully Honest Review to help people make a good decision! Read moreMy first time back in a while and the new look has very handsome & well done revisions to the dining & bar area. The wine list is appropriate and should have something for everyone but there are no real bargains. Our meal was hampered by inept, preening waiters who obviously thought we were not in need of niceties like menus, attention to the water glasses, plates for bread, etc. Honestly, when I saw one of the waiters swinging two bottles of wine by the neck like they were bowling pins, I thought "please god, don't let that be an old Barolo." As to the food, it was both good and bad. Old stalwarts like fried calamari were faithfully executed and the grilled calamari was downright excellent. Salads were properly dressed and colorful and some pasta dishes were very, very good. However, the other pastas were heavy, leaden like clumps probably because they absorbed too much during water during cooking. Desserts were good with the standard war horses of Tiramisu, etc. Some of our party raved about the food but almost all of us were wondering what's up with the service. These waiters looked like they were more inclined to ask you for a loan or to try & date your sister than serving food. Honestly when you wait 20 minutes for the first server to approach your table and you have to request menus, something is very, very wrong and it's management that hires these people and tacitly encourages their...
Read moreMy wife and I made an Open Table reservation at Amore on New Year's Eve, 12/31/13 for 2 at 5:30. When we arrived, about 6 tables were in use, with 4 of the tables having parties of 2. We were led to the worst seat in the place, right next to the kitchen, with the service staff going around us to get in and out of the kitchen. We asked if we could have another table and we were sniffily told there were no other tables for us to go to. We asked again, politely, and again, rather rudely, were told no. Then no one came for 5 minutes, leaving us with the chance to re-consider our choice. We decided to leave and while we were having a wonderful dinner at the Bricktops bar, we got a notice that Amore cancelled our reservation, therefore not allowing us to leave a review there. So, we'll let our Google review tell our story. We won't be going back. First impressions...
