Baron's Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Narragansett

It is a shame to give Brickley's two star because I really love Brickley's ice cream. 12 months ago I would have given them 5 stars. Their servers are really top notch as well. I think they have a difficult situation when customers are irrational and don't want to wear masks, or not adhere to a variety of health and safety protocols; however I also think Brickleys ownership is taking advantage of the pandemic to provide a lower level of service at a premium to their customers. Brickley's seems to be using their populartiy and quality products to dictate to their customers behavior that conveniences only the operator, or effectively charging a huge premium to their customers for what would be an expected product. The leading example is a limitation of one flavor per cone or cup. While they will tell you it is the "streamline and simplify", it really only streamlines their process and does not serve their customers. You are more than welcome to order a second flavor as a second cone or cup at the full cup or cone price, which is on the very top end from a cost perspective to start with. A waffle cone with a scoop of one flavor and a kiddie cup to add a second flavor now costs a whopping $10. They do seem to be taking advantage of the situation and I implore someone to offer top notch products and services to provide competition. VERY popular in the summer. If you drive down Boston Neck Rd from 5 pm to close, you will witness a line down said road with cars parked on both sides for a quarter mile in both directions. Yes. Really. Baron's has a parking lot as well if this is any indication of the traffic it receives. Found the best time to be early to mid-afternoon to avoid crowds.

There is covered and open seating (outside), trash cans, and napkin dispensers. You order at a window (covered for maybe 30 feet in front) and an employee or two will bring your treat to you by name.

Barons does ice cream with different sizes and cone options, soft serve, splits, shakes, and soda floats. There is a large board with pics uploaded to depict sizing and price options better than I could type this out.

I did a chocolate peanut butter cup and a chocolate coconut almond scoop on a waffle cone. This was excellent and the waffle cone sticks out to me. Awesome.

First of all I would like to say my family of 6 has been coming to brickleys for years and years and there’s so much I can say about how good the ice cream is and service! Let’s talk about how they make their own ice cream!! It’s very hard to find places that make their own ice cream and brickleys never disappoints!! They are open until 9 and sometimes 9:30 lines are always crowded but the staff works so hard and the lines always move quicker than expected. The soft serve and waffle cones are phenomenal all of the flavors are delicious. They have an outdoor patio we’re they serve people witch is good for Covid and is overall easier so people don’t have to make a line inside.
