So why not 5 stars for the best bagel I have had outside of NY and also including the Delray/Boca FL mkt…..well, let’s first give credit where credit is due, the quality of the bagel, dough, process, etc…is outstanding. Light, airy, somewhat crisp on the outside with an outstanding “chew”, this bagel is truly a step above most everything else out there and locally there’s zero competition. See pics for what I have to say next; I ordered an “everything” bagel and to say that the toppings were sparse, would be an understatement, with all other ”everything” bagels I’ve ever had, the toppings would be falling off and making a mess, not so here, so my car did stay clean on a positive note. Secondly I ordered the lox spread, which did taste great, however one tiny shard of salmon in the entire spread…really? So as good as it was, it was negatively balanced by their miserly proportion of bagel topping and lox, within the lox spread, especially for $6.25. As a backdrop, I never mind paying top dollar for quality, but I don’t want to feel like someone was stingy with their offering. As an aside, perhaps because they are relatively new, the interior decor leaves much to be desired and does not encourage you to want to spend time in this place, starting with the Boarshead menu’s above the counter. Will I return? Absolutely, best bagel around, however I will choose a different bagel and gladly pay extra for lox w regular cream cheese.

Update: Although they don't open until June 1st, I was lucky enough to try some pre-production bagels from NY Bagels of RI. I tasted the plain, the salted and the everything and all were delicious. I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY, but I have lived in RI for 40 years. I would often drive back to NY just to get a few dozen. Thank goodness, I don't have to do that anymore. The bagels at NY Bagels of RI are made right in their shop and they have worked hard to get it right. Nice crisp crust, chewy inside and not bready. They even will be using Phili cream cheese, exclusively, for those who want a smear. Who'da thunk such a thing would happen in the north end of Narragansett. It will even be worth the drive for you Providence folk. I expect a line out the door, once they open. Highly recommended.

Hands down the best bagels in Rhode Island! NY Bagels RI nails that perfect New York-style chew—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The bagels are always fresh, flavorful, and they’ve got a great variety of both classic and creative options. Their spreads and breakfast sandwiches are top-notch too (the bacon, egg & cheese is a personal favorite). Weekends can get busy, but they move the line impressively fast given the crowd—it’s super efficient and well-organized. The staff is friendly, service is quick, and the place is always clean. If you're a bagel lover, this spot is a must. You won't be disappointed! Let me know if you'd like to mention anything else, like parking, seating, or a specific menu item.

Sorry. I’ve been coming here for a very long time. Best bagels. Without a doubt. Today. They lost me as a customer. I came in. Ordered a dozen bagels , cream cheese , ice coffee and a bagel sandwich. The cashier informed me. They made an extra 50 bagel sandwiches by mistake and today is my lucky day. As I’m paying She handed me a COLD bagel sandwich. I said. No thank you. I will wait for a fresh , hot bagel sandwich. In the meantime. I’m assuming it’s the owner or manager who is bouncing around like a chicken with its head cut off is offering buy a sandwich and he will throw in a free one. The other cook is GIVING away FREE bagel sandwiches. Ok. They want ME to pay for a cold sandwich and give away free ones. I had absolutely NO PROBLEM waiting. Which I did. For 15 minutes. They NEVER made my fresh bagel sandwich The boss guy asks me what I’m waiting for. And try’s to hand me another cold bagel sandwich. Assuring me. They’ve only been there 5 minutes. I’ve been standing here like an IDIOT waiting for a Fresh Bagel sandwich. I understand. It’s a busy place. But. Just make me a fresh one. I paid. I’m waiting. While I’m standing here. Waiting. Both guys who are wearing gloves are touching every possible thing and handling food. I saw the cook. Rub his face , touch the swinging doors , grab a knife , grab the eggs off the grill. Absolutely disgusting food practices. By BOTH guys. I had words with the boss explaining I DON’T WANT YOUR COLD BAGEL SANDWICH. IM WAITING 🤌🤌🤌🤌. End of the story. I told him. You got my $50 bucks. I’m Google reviewing you. And. I told him. Just because you got STUCK with 50 bagel sandwiches. Why should I buy a COLD ONE ?????? Never again Bro. You have a busy place. Best wishes. You got the last dollar from me. Yes. I saw your reply. 👎👎👎. No Thank you. Give those cold , old bagel sandwiches to someone else. By the way. Change...

We stopped at NY Guys Bagels on our way to the beach today. We ordered bagels and a couple of sandwiches because we wanted breakfast and a light lunch for the beach. It wasn’t busy, but we waited over 30 minutes for our order to be ready after we placed our order. By the time the sandwiches were done, the bagels were cold and way too chewy. One person who worked there apologized and said it was because they were understaffed, but the same guy, plus another employee, also came outside the restaurant (food service gloves on) while we were waiting to interact with a dog that was tied up on the patio, so it seems like they could have allocated their resources differently. Just a poorly run business, and I don’t have 30 minutes to waste when I’m vying for a good spot on the beach. I’ll go...
