The food was delicious. The service and manager were appalling. As a party of 8 going in for dinner on a Saturday, we made a reservation earlier in the week without issue. When we arrived, we were seated right away in a fairly empty restaurant. At 25 minutes seated, we had not seen a waiter or received any attention. We asked a passing by employee if they could send someone over to us as we had no seen anyone yet. At 40 minutes seated, we had given our drink order but not received any bar drinks, water, napkins, silverware. When our drink order was taken, we asked to put in our food order as we had waited long enough and were ready. The gentleman that took our drink order let us know he was not our waiter and could not take our order. Understandable. At 1 hour seated, we had placed food orders and only half the table had received drinks. Our waiter spilled a tray of drinks that got onto the people sitting at the end of our table. Accidents happen, not a huge deal. At 1.5 hours seated, mostly everyone had their food, some were still waiting on drinks order earlier, we had to get our own utensils and napkins from nearby racks. Needless to say, we were irritated. At no point did a manager come to check on us as we had sat for a long time with no drinks/food and a drink had been spilled on people at the table. When the bill came, we were understandably upset as we were charged full price. A discount is not necessary, but when you order drinks after sitting for 40 minutes and they still don't come out until after all the food is out, that's unacceptable. I asked to speak to the manager and she let me know that the bad service was not due to the restaurant being busy (which we could see as it was mostly empty) but that our being there had prevented them from taking another reservation. How that was relevant, unsure. I let her know that we had also made a reservation earlier in the week and she let me know she was unaware. At this point she seemed very uninterested in talking to us about our dinner. She was unaware that we sat for so long (even though she was the original person asked at 25 minutes sat to send a waiter over) and unaware that we had a drink spilled on us. She brought up again how we made them "lose out on another reservation". She did end up giving a discount (although I think it was more to get me out of her face) but never an apology or acknowledgement that any wrong was done on their end.
The food, when it came out, was very good, drinks were not. I would recommend take out only...
Read moreAs customers for over 20 years, it is safe to say that me and my boyfriend will never go back ever again from our experience about 2 weeks ago, unfortunately with the new ownership and how laxed the environment is (This includes the manager spending more time talking to people eating food and drinking in front of customers) it has gone so downhill and it is very disappointing. We had gotten there on a Saturday night as we were getting seated we within 10 or so minutes were the only people in the dining area. We went to go order our drinks and one of the things I specifically said was as I asked for water along with them which I never actually received the water through the whole experience. The waiter that was helping us or barely helping us did not try to come back to ask us if we wanted a second round. We sat there ordering only three sushi rolls and an egg drop crab soup which there was little snippets of fake imitation crab in it and in the very end waited about 40 minutes just to get them (The soup was also definitely not fresh. The broth was definitely out of a can). We were seated right near the kitchen so we're seeing three sushi chefs back there as we wondered what was taking so long. And as we were waiting all the waiters including the manager and the chefs were all just eating dinner and not really checking on us at all when we finally got our food the rolls were overcooked with the rice being very pasty barely any kind of protein, mainly just rice. So you know right there they're skimming and trying to save money. When we asked for a check my boyfriend was so upset that he walked up to say something and instead of making things right the manager tried to ask us what went wrong and when we were telling him the issues instead of trying to make it right all he said was sorry shrugged his shoulders and walked away even when we pointed out we saw him drinking on the job It was clear that he really did not care at all. Bad service. Bad food and 80$ later will never go back again and I would strongly suggest if you want real authentic, Chinese and Japanese food...
Read moreI visited San Francisco Kitchen with three friends for a weekday lunch meeting. We were looking for a spot with a good atmosphere, and this place seemed to fit the bill. Our server was very friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy working there, which made for a welcoming experience.
I ordered the General Tsoâs lunch special with an egg roll, while two of my friends got the sesame chicken special, and another went with the orange chicken. The egg roll was the highlight of my mealâit had a fantastic crunch, was well-seasoned, and had a great filling.
Unfortunately, the General Tsoâs itself was disappointing. Even though I asked for it extra spicy, the flavor was pretty bland. It had more of a fried chicken taste rather than the saucy, flavorful kick I was expecting. Something about it seemed offâmaybe old fryer oil? Iâm not sure, but it didnât have the balance of flavors Iâve had at other places. I tried my friendsâ meals, and while they had more flavor than mine, they still had that overpowering fried chicken taste that didnât quite sit right.
When our server came back, I was honest about my meal. He was really understanding and even offered to buy me an appetizer to take home. I told him it wasnât necessary, but he insisted, so I went with the Thai Chicken Teriyaki. That ended up tasting much betterâseasoned well and enjoyable.
The restaurant itself was decently decorated, with a large bar for seating. Aside from our group, the only other customers were two guys at the bar, day drinking and gambling.
Overall, it was an okay experience. If youâre going for a lunch special, itâs a decent deal, but if youâre ordering outside of that, expect to pay above-average prices for pretty...
