Read moreMy partner and I visited this past weekend after seeing the place on TikTok and wanting to check out the hype. Parking was a bit tricky, but we managed to find a decent spot. When we walked in, the hostess was super friendly and seated us quickly. Our server, Nicole, was amazing—such a sweet young woman who made us feel welcome.
We started with the calamari and ordered drinks that looked great online. I tried the dragon fruit cocktail, but it was way too sweet for me, so I asked Nicole to take it back and bring me water with lemon instead (they don’t serve Coors Light, which was fine). Unfortunately, the calamari didn’t taste fresh—still edible, but not the best.
For our entrées, we had the surf and turf mofongo and the shrimp mofongo. The steak was unseasoned and chewy, but the side sauce was delicious and helped. The mofongo itself was good, and the shrimp were tasty.
The only real disappointment came when it was time to pay. I asked for the cocktail to be removed from the bill since I barely touched it, but the bartender refused, saying once drinks leave the bar, they can’t be refunded. I understand policies, but it left me feeling like customer satisfaction wasn’t the priority.
Overall, this place just needs some small tweaks—better drink quality control, a little more care in food seasoning, and perhaps a re-think on rigid drink policies. Thanks to Nicole and the hostess, I’d...
Read moreMy friend and I decided to take the hour drive to check this place out after we saw a promo for it on Instagram and the Google reviews looked good.
Overall I would give my experience a 2.5
The pros the hostess and waitress were pleasant and accommodating. the wings are good (cooked and seasoned welled). Also the churros were good. they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. the place seemed very clean (including the restroom). they appear to have a dj and play live music as well.
On the flip side, cons the drinks weren't the worst I've ever had, but not the greatest either (the alcohol seems to be drowned out by very sweet syrups/mixers). the food was 50/50 -- the empanadas were cooked well but lacked seasoning. -- the red snapper I ordered appeared the be cooked and seasoned well. However, once I peeled back the skin the center was cold and completely raw (sent it back). -- I considered ordering something else. However, once my friend told me he couldn't finish his food either because it was too salty (he ordered the Paella). We decided just to eat the wings.
Overall, seems to be a good place to hang out and maybe grab some appetizers, but I would steer clear of the mixed drinks and the entrees. Then again, most of the other reviews give this place 5 stars, so maybe it was just...
