This is a solid 4.5/5 place and the only reason I didn’t go with 5/5 was service. The staff is a bit cold and you do have to place an order yourself (at peak hours, be ready to stand in a long line that goes all the way to Kisser restaurant).
However, once you successfully place an order and are able to find a table for yourself — it’s all uphill from there because the food is outstanding. You’ll crave for their vegetarian options as well once you leave the place because everything is so flavorful and delicious - specially their winter quinoa bowl. I’ve already had it like 4 times since the first time I ate it and I’m still not bored of it.
Their coffee is as solid as you’d expect a coffee shop that only sells coffee and pastries, to brew. I’ve gone back there only to pick up coffee to-go.
Another plus to this complex, is that they have a huge parking lot and you don’t have to worry about finding street parking. There’re so many great businesses around so you can extend your brunch and grab an early drink at Golden Pony afterwards as well or shop at Garage Sale and grab a drink there. They do have an outdoor area as well as extra seating and I’ve seen them at 100% capacity on Saturdays and Sundays during brunch hours.
I’m absolutely thrilled to have this cafe open in my neighborhood and frequently like...
Read moreThe coffee tastes so fresh here holy hell. I'm not a sommelier, so I don't know how to describe it. But you can tell they roasted the beans in house. None of that stale aftertaste, or gross burnt undertones (seriously why do people still go to Strbcks) The menu is also pretty refreshing. I've had dozens of turkey bacon sandwiches in my life, and they always taste the exact same (not that there's anything wrong with that). This turkey bacon sandwich slapped me in the face with some WILD flavor combinations that work really well together! I've never had a sandwich like it! But the ATMOSPHERE here takes the cake. This feels like a place I would want to stay at for hours after I finished my meal. It's so cozy and welcoming. So many tables and sitting areas for all types of customes, the color scheme brings so much light and space into the smaller location, and the coffee is really good you should try the coffee please it's really gooooooooood You can tell the owners of this place aren't just in it for the money. They're passionate about the food they cook and the coffee they roast. They want to make their little coffee place a pillar for the community, and I think they knocked it out of the park. Love this place. Support...
Read moreI visited Flora + Fauna and had a disappointing experience. I ordered a matcha latte, but I couldn’t taste the matcha at all. When I asked the young lady at the counter if they could add more matcha, she immediately responded that she would have to charge me extra because their matcha is expensive. Her tone was quite rude, which was off-putting.
The matcha latte tasted like straight whole milk, and the color was very light, indicating that they either don’t use enough matcha or it’s not ceremonial grade. Either way, it was not what I expected.
What really left a bad taste in my mouth was the service. As someone who has worked in the food industry for over five years, I know that this is not how you handle a customer who is dissatisfied with their order. Additionally, being the only person of color in the establishment, the interaction felt even more uncomfortable.
I won’t be returning, not because of the latte or the food, but because of the poor service. Customer service is crucial, and unfortunately, they fell short...
