This is a Honest review about the restaurant from opening day to now.
My first time going here (which was on the opening night) it was fantastic! The ambiance was quiet, relaxed, warm feeling. The food came out promptly, it was hot, well presented, and delicious! The server was attentive, kind, informative and gave great suggestions. The wine was delicious and was poured well for $16 a glass. The bread was hot and brought out without even asking for it.
Fast forward to this evening. I suggested to my boyfriend that we should go back to Frankie’s, and he was immediately like “ok ! yes I’ll make a reservation”. We both remembered the great experience we had and knew things would be on par for a nice dinner together. We arrive and we were seated promptly, and our server greeted us. We both order two glasses of wine, both $17 each. The server pours less wine than I’m used to out at dinner. I asked my boyfriend if he under poured us? We both enjoy wine and have had it at almost every dinner out- and this pour was well under 5oz. For the price you pay, you are much better off either skipping the wine all together, or splurging on a bottle. I thought, maybe it was a mistake…let’s order another. We took our chances again, ordered a different option and yup——same small pour. The first time we went here, our wines were normal pours. I don’t quite understand what happened. It’s disappointing.
We both ordered our food. I got the capparelli because I loved it from last time. My boyfriend got the ribeye. The waiter took our order, however I truly wish there would have been more communication about the ribeye. We completely missed the word “cold” on the menu next to ribeye. This was mainly our faults for not completely reading thoroughly but I have never heard of serving cold ribeye for dinner…I even tried asking the waiter why it was cold after the fact. Was it served specific to the region in Italy? He said “no it’s an item left from the summer menu and I personally think it’s quite tasty and good, with lots of flavor”. While we respected his input, we both did not agree. The ribeye was cold, very pink in the middle, with no taste or seasoning. My boyfriend ate a majority of it bc he was so hungry but became nauseous afterwards. I only tried 1-2 pieces and did not like it at all. I truly hope they remove this item from their fall menu. Or at least have the waiter clarify this order when people place the order. It can easily be assumed that it’s just makes that- because who would eat cold meat for dinner??
Our waiter never offered us bread. Our first time visiting, we were greeted with bread free of charge. We had to ask the waiter for bread. It came out like it had been sitting in a refrigerator. Very cold. Not fresh like it had been on opening night. It was all truly just disappointing. How could things have shifted so much in such a small amount of time. We both just sat there unsure about everything.
The check came and the price was substantially marked down. My boyfriend noticed that the wine had not been added to the bill. I immediately thought, well maybe he removed them because we were complaining ? No he just forgot. He came back and said sorry about that, here’s the bill. The bill was cringeworthy given our experience. I truly hope Frankie’s pulls it together or maybe this was truly just an off night? Sadly, I won’t be returning until things have changed a little. Bring bs l Frankie’s on opening night!! That was a meal experience...
Read moreThis is going to be an odd review. This is about 925 not the pizza place, the pizza place phenomenal. I've been twice now. Both times the service was horrible, slow, pretentious. Almost annoyed that you're there. (Except this one girl I wish I knew her name she worked tonight and had a Frankie's blue shirt on. Wish she was my server every time, but she wasn't she just brought our boxed up food at the end) Also they charge for bread like 6 bucks, think I paid 12 all together, but it's worth it. Now more importantly, the food. The food is worth every bit. I had a 545 reservation tonight and I wish I had two more hours to eat there. I could just sit and enjoy it from open to close it's that good. We had the bread, mozzarella platter (slightly wetter than the first time I went but still fire) Wife had beets. Highlight of the meal, ravioli (also wetter than last time but still perfect) I had the sausage brown butter. Daughter had egg plant parm. Really I would love to say this place sucks people are rude etc never coming back. But the food is so damn good it's worth it. First time I came in they were closing early it was our anniversary and I love the pizza place so I wanted to try the restaurant. It was amazing. Again horrible service. But amazing food. They closed early for a private party or something I can't remember. Didn't affect us because we were quick to eat and sat at the bar. But this one guy came in while we were eating and almost got in a fight with the hostess because he sat he sat there for 15 minutes before being greeted. And then the hostess was like we close in 20 mins. No where was it posted guy was pretty ticked. To us it was dinner and a show. But hey sometimes you close early. Chefs are also really nice: should add that. Chefs there are very kind and grateful. Hopefully the waitstaff don't recognize me after posting this. I mean it's a five star review. All I'm saying is if you go here expect Unwelcomed hospitality hahaha....
Read moreMy husband and I made reservations to try this new place out locally for Valentine’s Day. We made these reservations as soon as they became available. When we arrived we had to wait for a table; couples coming after us were being seated before us and once they finally seated us it was at this large community style table where you don’t have any privacy and are sitting with complete strangers next to you. With it being Valentine’s Day and something we implicitly made reservations for, we were taken back by this. I looked around and all the other couples had their own private tables except us. I requested for us to be seated somewhere where we weren’t sharing space with random people and that took time to make happen as well.
When we finally got settled in place I requested a glass of Sangiovese red wine. The serve their reds cold. It was gross and the worst glass of wine I’ve ever had.
The menu is pretty pricey for the entree and my Ravi with lamb I ordered was a very small portion and extra soupy. With a small drizzle of lamb. It definitely wasn’t worth the $28 it cost. My husband didn’t think his dish was anything remarkable either; just another cheesey pasta macaroni style dish, also super small and over $20.
The bread and olive oil you normally get at most Italian restaurants free of charge definitely wasn’t free and we weren’t aware that it was extra. The bread was incredibly cold and doughy.
The only thing I had personally that was good was the Aperol spritz from the bar. It was nice.
We ended our meal and had cookout after because we were still hungry and also got some shakes for desert. That was more memorable than the $100+ meal for two that we had at Frankie’s.
10 out of 10 would NOT recommend if you’re looking for a non gentrified/touristy place to eat in Nashville that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg for mediocre...
