Summary: Grillshack does one thing super well. A burger & fries, and they only have one burger. They are simple, quick, easy, well priced, and delicious. Are they the best burger I’ve ever eaten? No, but they are super good, and their fries are awesome too.
Order: Burger and fries About: $14
I had spent early part of the afternoon at coffee shop and knew I was headed to hike for a few hours so I wanted to get some good, and hopefully not super expensive, food that afternoon. I read a couple of reviews and saw a lot of really good things about Grillshack. I’m not normally big burger guy but something about the idea of a place that just does one burger and fries really well intrigued me so that’s where I landed.
It is super low-key; it’s basically a small building with a to go window a few picnic tables outside under a covered awning and that’s it. They serve a few different items but really they basically have one thing. The grillshack burger and fries. It’s what every single person got while I was there and it’s what they recommend. So clearly that’s what I got. It’s an incredibly simple burger with toppings kind of on the side, lettuce tomato pickles, and their fries are home cut and absolutely delicious.
There’s really not a ton to say about grillshack except I would absolutely come here anytime I wanted a burger. It’s almost like someone took the “fast food burger” and then made it delicious but still kept it at a somewhat reasonable price. I definitely recommend people go, and I could see myself going again when I’m back...
Read moreThe last few times I’ve come here it’s gotten progressively worse from service and the food. They used to have amazing customer service and food although it’s a bit over priced but my last two encounters in particular make me never want to come here again. I’ll never understand how some of these restaurants have no shame when it comes to serving overcooked burnt food or food that was previously fried then refrying it as if you don’t have taste buds. I ordered a cream soda but received a root beer. I believe it was done intentionally, giving me the wrong drink. My chicken tenders were burnt, dry and flavorless, my wings were cold as if they had been sitting and the fries were extremely greasy, I can tell and taste that they were previously cooked sat out then were dropped in grease again! The incident before this time was weird as well the new blonde cashier stood there looking at me for a few minutes as if she didn’t see me and then turned and walked away. I could clearly see that my food was ready on the white surface they have by the window. After 5 minutes she came back and put my food in a bag that had already been sitting then called my name. I was trying to tell her that it wasn’t my food and she had an attitude about it and had the other guy come to the window to fix my order. My food was cold disgusting and the atmosphere was weird and unwelcoming. I won’t...
Read moreThe best burger in Nashville. When I write reviews about other places with burgers I'll usually say something about how they are good but you can find better. This is the place I'm talking about. $12 gets you a 5 oz patty on a delicious bun with some delicious crispy fries. And what a burger. It's got a crunch to it from crisping on the griddle but it's not a true smash burger. The meat remains juicy, rich in beefy umani flavor while resting on this lightly toasted but fluffy bun. And definitely spend the 50 cents for the extra cheese. The location is what it says, a shack. There are picnic tables under a covered area in this gravel lot. Parking is usually pretty easy. They also offer wings which are good if not the greatest but make a wonderful add on. The grilled cheese is also a solid choice if you are not feeling very beefy . But really try the burger, get extra cheese maybe get an extra patty. So delicious you...
