Sad to say the worst "sweet treat" experience I've had since relocating to Nashville. My fiancé and I went in today to try things out as I was shopping bakery options for a client of mine to use on their wedding day. It was a little late in the afternoon and they were just about out of most options so we opted for the the last of their Orange Sweet Rolls... money exchanged, tip in jar and out the door to enjoy on the patio. The roll not only had little to no icing (which is the best part of a sweet roll if you ask me). What adorned the roll was something that could be compared to dry paste. Despite the lack of aesthetics we each shared a bite and could barely choke it down from it's dry and partially stale flavor. We typically aren't the type to make a fuss over a pastry, however as the roll was close to $5 we felt we should comment to the staff. My fiancé kindly mentioned to the girl behind the counter that we felt like the roll was stale and asked if there were any fresher options looming. Barely acknowledging his presence she snubbed him and assured that it was made fresh and that there was nothing she could do about it. I don't know many business models that function on the notion that arguing with the customer is the appropriate discourse but I would venture to guess it won't carry them far. Good luck Five Daughters, me and my crew will...
Read moreFive Daughters Bakery isn’t just a stop—it’s a whole vibe. Tucked into the heart of Nashville, this place feels like a love letter to joy, craft, and community. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted not just by the heavenly scent of fresh-baked donuts, but by the kind of energy that makes you want to linger a little longer.
Let’s talk about those 100-layer donuts. They’re not just pastries—they’re experiences. Flaky like a croissant, rich like a brioche, and glazed to perfection. Every bite is a soft, sweet reminder that someone behind the counter really cares about what they’re making. I went in for one and left with a box (no regrets).
But what truly made the visit unforgettable was Linnea. Her service was next-level—warm, attentive, and full of genuine kindness. She didn’t just take my order; she made me feel seen. Like I was a regular, even though it was my first time. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it deserves to be celebrated.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Five Daughters is a must. Come for the donuts, stay for the people. And if you’re lucky enough to be helped by Linnea, you’ll leave with more than a treat—you’ll leave smiling.

Read moreWent in today to try out these incredible donuts I've been hearing about. I got a vanilla cream, raspberry white chocolate and a paleo caramel peach (just to see how that would be) first off the shop is very cute and bright and the girl working was very nice. I gave my husband the vanilla one and cut the raspberry one in half so he could try that too. The raspberry one was really good the paleo one was as to be expected. Not great. Donuts shouldn't be paleo, gluten free health snacks. They are donuts. But for what they were the bakery did a good job. But i only ate one bite of that and it was enough. The 2 star review is because when my husband bit into his donut a very long blonde hair was intwined under the icing. I have curly brown hair so it's not mine. So he threw his $5 donut into the trash along with the other half of the raspberry one because he was so grossed out. Luckily he did this after I ate mine because otherwise mine would be in the trash too. He did say he wasn't impressed with the first bite anyway too sweet and not so very much like a normal donut. So if you want a fancy expensive donut this is your place. Just hope that...
