What a complete letdown. We were pretty excited to try Rosepepper after it being suggested to us and talked so highly of. I think most of their fame comes from the margaritas, hopefully not the food. We had made reservations for 8 people (7 adults and 1 toddler). Once we arrived we were seated almost immediately. Ordered waters for everyone and two pitchers of the famous margaritas for the table. Those all came fairly quick which was great. Unfortunately everything that followed was sheer disappointment. Normally I would take pictures of the food after it arrives so I can share alongside a review. This wasn’t worth snapping any pics. Let’s start with the food… was it edible? Sure. Was there any flavor? No. The rice tasted like it was minute rice heated up from a bag in a microwave. My enchiladas were devoid of all flavor which was shocking because they’re enchiladas- how do you mess that up? That’s about all that needs to be said. I tried tasting multiple dishes and was only somewhat impressed by the waffle fries from the kids menu. The margaritas were strong, but the tequila used didn’t have a good flavor. One of my friends had ordered the flautas, one of which basically came as a rolled up tortilla, missing all of the filling besides two small pieces of meat. We flagged down our server and pointed this out which we were told would be corrected. A little while later, our server returned with another order of flautas. And I mean the full entree, including the beans and rice on the side, and for some unknown reason a side of steamed vegetables on the plate which was not included in the first order. We were very confused by this. We didn’t ask for or expect a replacement for the full entree, just wanted the one flauta to have its fillings… To top this all off, we were charged for two full orders of the flautas. This might be a first for me when asking for a correction for a mistake from what was originally ordered. At the end, we waited for a bit because I was going to ask the server to remove the second order from my check (parties of 8 or more cannot split checks) but he never returned after multiple attempts to flag him down. All that being said, looks like we won’t be...
Read moreWe had a party of 9 for dinner at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, 11/23/22 (the night before Thanksgiving). We were seated right away. The inside is colorful and decorated with fun lights. Our waiter was Daniel J. and he was amazing! Everyone who took care of us was great. Our food came out so quickly.
Here’s what I tried: Virgin Margarita ($5): Everyone raaaaaved about their margaritas, but I’m pregnant, so a virgin margarita had to do. It was good! Pitchers of the actual margaritas were $33 and from what I could tell, they are STRONG. Don’t let the light, clear color fool you. Maybe take a ride share service if you plan on having a couple. Or go with a pregnant person. Queso ($8.95): Amazing. The flour chips are not your typical tortilla chips. I really liked them though. Huge portion. Definitely worth the price. Guacamole ($9.95): Also amazing. Also came with flour chips. Again, huge portion. Al Carbon Chicken Tacos ($12.95): Comes with rice and beans, which were good! The tacos themselves were too dry for my liking. I drowned them in queso, but they were still too dry. I wouldn’t get this again. Burrito Asada ($11.95): OMG, this was HUGE. Amazing deal for the price and portion. It was absolutely loaded with steak. I do wish there had been more vegetables in it, with a lower steak ratio, but the steak was good quality and tasted good. Still, I think I would go with the Veggie Burrito next time.
Others in my party got the Veggie Burrito ($9.95), De la Casa Fajitas with chicken ($16.95), and large Quesadilla with chicken ($10.95). Everyone loved theirs. And everyone had leftovers. The move is to get queso and guac and then split an entree. Two people in my party did that and STILL had leftovers.
Fun place! Can’t wait to try the margaritas next time!...
Read moreIf we could give zero stars, that would have been the option; however, we have to choose at least one. My spouse and I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday afternoon. It was about 3 p.m., and the place was pretty much empty. The hostess seated us on the covered patio, we were then promptly brought chips and three salsas. The chips were the quality of processed packaged chips, and room temperature. One salsa tasted like tomato sauce, one was green with semi-decent flavor, and the third actually tasted good; had a nice bite to it.
Then our visit went downhill. We read the menus then put them down (universal sign that we are ready), munched chips, and munched on chips. No server appeared, although there were three employees that kept coming and going from the two tables to our immediate right. Two of the employees appeared to be servers based on their dress, but none of them took an interest in us. We sat there for over fifteen minutes with no drinks, and no attention. After having finished one whole bowl of salsa, and a half basket of chips we decided to leave. The hostess passed us as we stood up, and told us to have a nice day. She didn't even realize we had not been served!
We waited for her return at the hostess desk, asked the cost of chips and salsa. She told us $5.00, and I handed her a five dollar bill. I then told her that if they want to keep customers, they should instruct their servers to acknowledge the customers. She was shocked to hear we had not been served, apologized on behalf of the lazy/nonexistent server and refused the payment for chips. I told her we would never be back, and she apologized again for the bad...
