Very very delicious!
I went in and decided to go with the chicken PHO to go, my first time trying it, I did ask the waiter to add shrimp and she advised me it would be $4.00 extra, I said yes! GO BIG OR GO HOME!
The waiter asked me to have a seat and it would be 10 minutes. While i waited for my food I noticed they had baked duck! It looked so delicious, my next trip will most certainly be for the duck! Can’t wait!
After waiting for 5 minutes the amazing waiter brought out my food, as I was leaving I decided to look around and see what other things I could find, this place is a store with a restaurant attached to it, it’s very unique and exotic.
I found this cup of green things that looked like worms, lol ( it’s not worms) and I was so curios to try it, I asked that cashier what it was, and she told me….. dessert!
I opened up my PHO and the first thing I noticed was the smell, it smelled so delicious, I was so eager to dive in, but I had to add the condiments. They gave me a plate with rice soup, mint, and other veggies, and some lime. I added those to my cup. They also gave me marmalade and some hot sauce, if you guys try this please don’t commit the same mistake I did, I added to much marmalade and my PHO taste too sweet, it was my fault not the restaurants. Regardless it was delicious!!! A lot of shrimp, chicken, and broth! YUUUUUUUM!
The dessert! As I was pulling it out the bag it fell onto my lap and got all over my car lol!! When I picked up the cup I noticed I still had some left inside, and of courses I decided to still try it so I can let you guys know. It came with a cup of honey, and I guess coconut milk. Whatever I did try, was really good!! I’m guessing some sort of flan!
Overall! Everything was delicious and amazing, great quantities for the price! Will continue to return and I will most definitely keep you guys updated! BTW I do plan on trying the green cup again, knock on wood……. I hope it doesn’t spill on me...
Read moreMy review is based on the food compared to home cooking food. I come from a Laotion household and in Nashville for work. Been craving some home cooking food and my cousin had a friend who lived in Nashville and suggested this place if I wanted something home cooking. It's a hidden gem one might say. Combination of grocery store and a restaurant. So for myself this is a great one stop shop and eat if hungry. I stopped in for a late lunch/ early dinner on Sunday. I was craving a bowl of Pho. I was not disappointed at all. The bowl was huge just what "mom" serves at her house. It was a big portion, my eyes was more hungry than what my stomach could handle... The taste was perfect and authentic to what I grew up eating and still get. The price is more than reasonable for the size you get. I ordered the King sausage which was very good and exactly how home made Lao sausage should taste. Had the Laab Chicken, very good also and hit the spot. Then had papaya salad which was very tasty and spicy the way it should be(I did get hot version). There is a lot of different dishes to choose from. There is dishes that are common and then you have your traditional Lao dishes to choose from. I definitely recommend that if you haven't had Lao food before and want to try something different, this is a great place to try out. Dine in or do carry out. They also serve some Thai dishes if anyone looking for a taste of Thai food. I recommend dine in if it's your first time, because it's better served fresh and brought out to you. If I'm still working out this way, I definitely will be coming back if crave some...
Read moreFIVE STARS!!! Mr. Awesome and I love this place. We make sure to stop and eat at the cafe whenever we just passing through or visiting friends. We usually eat their Loas food and make it spicy, the Loas way which is spicier than Thai. We live 3 hours away from the King Market so we order 4-5 dishes to eat there and order a few more take home to eat for our dinner later too. There are a lot of none spicy food on the menu and even the spicy ones you can ask them politely not to put any chili in your dish as well. The service is always great. To be honest, I don't care for the oldest son that works in the cafe sometimes. He might get too tired to do his job and can't put any smile on his face but don't be rude. The 3 young guys are great! They were awkward when they're younger but they know what they're doing and do it well. They still don't smile a lot but never rude nor lacking anything to complain about. The parents are alway wonderful and sweet. So they are the saving grace for the bad service the oldest son gave to some customers. The price is great for the most delicious food and generous portions we get every time, it's a great deal. Good news! They have expanded the cafe area to better serve the high demands. That space used to be their diamond and gold shop! Just a prove of how popular their name and reputation get out. We always recommend King Market Cafe to our friends who want to eat yummy Thai/Loas food. Try their food even you're not the biggest fan of Thai/Loas food. And they will change your life forever. Saab-E-Lee! Means very delicious in Loas. Thanks, King...
