About 1/3 - 1/2 of their product selection varies week to week, but what they have is always good quality, fresh, in season & a great value (low prices)!
Make sure to bring a quarter w/you bc you'll need it to get a cart (you'll get it back when you return the cart to the corral)....BUT if you forget, you can always just go inside &ask 1 of the cashier's to make change for you out of their register (I.e. $1 into 4 quarters; 2 dimes & 1 nickel into 1 quarter; 25 pennies, etc.etc.); they're always happy to do it!
Bring your own bags to use; you'll need them to bag your own groceries (@the bagging counter across from the registers) after you finish checking out. But don't worry, if you happen 2forget them, you still have a few options available to you (besides trying to carry everything in your arms/putting everything loose into your backseat):
Buy bags@checkout (you can find them on shelves directly underneath the belt) ---Plastic bags = 10c/ea.; Paper = 7c/ea. ---Big reuseable plastic bag = $2 ---Plastic thermal/cooler bag =$1 ---Large reuseable thermal bag = $7 (these 1s are the only bags NOT located @checkout below the belt. They hang on a stand near the front of the store, bt the 1st register & the 2nd aisle).
Keep your eyes out as you make your way along the aisles bc you can often find empty boxes that haven't been scrapped by employees yet. Or boxes that only have 1 or 2 products left in them, in which case you can put those 1-2 items on top of, or in, the box behind or underneath it &then, take the now empty box to use.
Get creative & use a medium/large nonfood item that you were going 2buy anyway to store most/all of the rest of your items. Ex. Hampers/laundry baskets, organization containers, dog food storage container (this was 1 of their special buys a few weeks ago).
&Finally, just a few of the very, very best things to get here in my experience are: PRODUCE (fresh fruits & veggies; ex. Pound of Strawberries $1.99; Blueberries ~8-10oz $1.79), various CHEESES (incl. fancy, small-batch craft cheese & goat cheese-$1.79 for much, much less than they cost at Kroger-$5-6 or Publix-$4-5), chocolate & small cakes, baking supplies & bread. Their seasonal, limited time items are also great; for example, I found a 15.9oz jar of premium Fig Jam for only $3! (Compare to Kroger' s price of $5 for maybe half as...
Read moreMostly satisfied with product and produce quality but I am very disappointed in some of the staff members’ adherence to quality and safety measures, namely related to COVID. Wearing a “face shield” is a waste of time and shows the employee’s total lack of respect for the community/customers’ health. If it happens again, I will not be returning here. Face MASKS are required at all times in the store, both for customers and employees.
Additionally, the store is not in compliance with bathroom health and safety protocol. When washing my hands, I discovered there to be no hand soap or paper towels. The latter was most concerning given that the bathroom door handle must be grabbed and turned for exit. What do employees do here, the same employees who are handling all produce and making food and packaging contact? Ironically there is a sign that says “employees must wash hands”, but this makes no sense given the current bathroom setup and clearly was placed here only for legal reasons.
Suggested improvements: install paper towel dispensers and check daily for supplies Install foot pedal in inside of both bathroom doors to eliminate spread of COVID. Swap out door handle that does not...
Read moreWent to Aldi early Monday morning. I went into the store with my own bag and hand sanitizer. The only thing I touched was the bag of coffee and two pack of paper towels I needed. When I went up to the register to buy the two things, I very politely asked the woman at the register if she could scan my items while I held them because I work directly with elderly people and didn't want to place my items on the conveyor belt, trying to prevent any contact with possible virus. She was incredibly rude! Rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed like I was asking her something incredibly difficult. She said she didn't have a handheld scanner, so I asked if I could hold the two items over the scanner because again, "I have direct face to face contact with Alzheimer's patients and was trying to be safe and not expose them". She rolled her eyes again and put her hands in the air, then I quickly scanned my items. She said something under her breath. Never said thank you for shopping here or anything, just gave me a dirty look when I left, after I said I was just trying to protect the people I care for. Disgusting behavior when I was only trying to protect the elderly population...
